Before the days of being a WWE color commentator and being a lover of the "puppies" with his horny middle aged guy gimmick, Jerry the King Lawler had a great career where he onced ruled Memphis Tennessee and Mid Southern Wrestling
Lawler held the Southern Heavyweight championship close to 40 times. Also another interesting fact is that Hulk Hogan wrestled him many times but never pinned Lawler
About 13 years before Chris Jericho became undisputed champion, Lawler did it in 1988. He unified the AWA and World Class Championships by defeating Kerry Von Erich. At that time both had a "World Title" status.
I would consider Lawler one of the best wrestlers in the past 25 years
Kinda makes you think when the #1 rapper is white and the #1 golfer is black
