On a serious, yet ever-so-slightly humorous note...the truck that ran a red light & slammed into the NJ Newark Subway (which runs above ground at times) was filled with Malta. My girlfriend was on that car that was struck, so afterwards, just for shits & giggles decided to check the stuff out. She wanted to see what was so important to get to el supermercado & thereby caused her pain. And, in agreement with everyone else, it was horrendous.

I grew up drinking malta el sol. I drank it everytime i went to my grandmothers house on weekends. God the memories...

Silera you can have mine I have a case left.

I hired some day laborers to do some Spring cleanup work around my house. I went out and bought them lunch and Malta and soda. I figured it was better than beer since I didn't want them getting hammered when they were working. Well they preferred Cerveza! Gave them the last of my Bass Ale, which they enjoyed. They thought I was a good guy for feeling them and stuff; they told me some people won't even let them use the bathroom in their house.

The guys were awesome and did great work and want me to hire them again. But when I asked for their social security numbers so I could report my payments to them to the IRS they said they forgot the numbers. Since I need that and other documentation to pay taxes to Uncle Sam, I won't be able to hire them again.

Anyway Malta sucks. It does taste like carbonated prune juice. The other stuff is called Chinotto, which is kind of like the Italian's version of root beer but is only slightly better than Malta cause it's Italian.

we had a few local grocery stores in Jersey City that sold the Malta... i remember trying it once but didn't care for it...

haha. It's funny cause i actually opened it thinking it was about the "Malta conference" because i am a stupid. Hilarious.....

my aunt used to drink that espresso soda, it tasted like liquid tar to me. {shrug}
