i'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this question in but here goes:

i've got a windows xp question thats been bugging me lately. i used to be able to right click on a file or folder and then when i would click on properties it would bring up the screen that says lets you specify whether you want each user to be able to read, write, change, have full access, to a file, or no access. now whenever i click on properties and click on share/security it brings up a screen that tells me if i want to share to drag my folders to the "all users" folder. nothing about security. i'm wondering how do i get back to the security screen where i can specify who can have access and so forth.

I think the area where you set the rules for who has access to what is in the control panel under administrative tools and computer management. there's a section on users and groups and you can specify what's what.

Does the account you're currently using have administrative rights?

In the folder do this:

Tools>Folder Options>View>

then at the bottom make sure simple file sharing isnt checked

Should work.
