View Full Version : Do You Like Your Pizza Flaming Hot?

I like my pizza warm, but not scorching hot. I get the feeling some people love their pizza piping hot, but I don't know why.
If it's too hot to touch, it's too hot to eat. That's my opinion. I don't want to wait a year and a day for my pizza to cool down.

...with pizza on a bagel you can eat pizza anytime!
I like it hot, but not all oily. That makes you feel bad when you eat it.

Whenever I see someone eat it straight from the fridge it gives me the willies. Straight from the oven is the way to go.
I am, and always will be,in a state of sulky dissatisfaction.

Aside from piping hot, I love it cold right from the fridge. My wife skeevs that so much. I also like it warm and room temperature. Let's face it. Pizza is good all the time and any temperature will do.

I don't like it so hot that you have to blow on it in your mouth.
I'll also eat pizza cold that has been in the fridge if I'm in the mood for it.

Well done, especially if there's bacon or sausage on top. Crispy bacon on a bed of cheese and tomato sauce, sprinkle with garlic, oregano, and parsley, but NEVER too hot to shove in your mouth with full force...
NOW I'M STARVIN!!!!!!!!!!

How I eat Pizza:
I pull off all the cheese/topping and leave it in a blob on the plate.
I eat the toppingless slice up to the crust.
I fold open the crust with my thumbs and place the now cooled off topping inside the hollow crust like a huge blunt and then eat it.
My favorite toppings:
Pepperoni
White Clam (when in New Haven like at Sally's or Abate's)
Bacon
Too Cute's homemade goat cheese and arugula with fresh baby tomatoes
Sausage (pieces not slices). I hate it when places use slices. Chunks all the way....
I don't mind anchovies but I do not like peppers, onions, or mushrooms. The weirdest topping I ever had on pizza was giraffe, when I was in Kenya. Giraffe does not taste like chicken. It tastes like beef.
Pineapple and Ham is not as bad as you might think.
In Australia a common topping is hard boiled egg.
In certain parts of Italy it's against the law to put anything on a pizza except tomato, buffalo milk or fior di latte mozzarella cheese and basil and cook it in anything but a brick oven. This is an attempt to maintain the purity of Italian pizza and prevent pizzerias from becoming Americanized.
Pizza, as we know it, was "invented" by Raffaele Esposito in Naples in 1889, when he assembled mozzarella, tomato sauce and basil on a disc of dough and named it pizza Margherita in honor of Queen Margherita.
I love pizza.

Hawaiian pizza rules!
A ''delicacy'' at one of the bars out here is a sausage, onion, and bleu cheese pizza. Actually quite tasty, until you start to feel the bleu cheese block off your arteries.
