My favorite, which every once in a while I'll see to this day, is the 80's commercial for the Children's Aid Society.

"I'm really glad they made...the Children's Aid...Society"

The funny thing is, I know it aired first in the 80's, but the last time I saw it (last year, I think during the holidays), it was the same exact commercial. Same cheese-ball haircuts, same short ball-hugger short, and everything. I couldn't believe they were still airing it, I know sometimes jingles last a long time, but this was a little ridiculous.

Those really cheesy Jibralter (sp) transmission commercials that used to air on Saturday mornings during wrestling.

My head was down. I was feeling low
It was Saturday morning. my transmission wouldn't go
So I called up Jibralter. Make it fast make it right
Got me cruisin' on a Saturday night
Got me cruisin' on a Saturday Night
(Cruisin' with Jibralter)
Holdin' my honey real tight
(Cruisin' with Jibralter)
Hearing my song on the radio. I'm the star of the show
Jibralter keeps your car on the go.

There is probably several dozen posts regarding the "Children's Aid Society" commercials in the 80's on this board alone. I have been trying to get that theme song for years to no avail.

Fry it up in the pan
And never, never, ever let you
Forget you're the man..."

But my fave, and one I think should still be on, is the
one where the Indian (which is what we called them
back then) walks around and sees all this pollution and
trash on the ground, and the camera pans in on his
face as he turns slowly to look in the camera, and you
see a single tear fall down his face. Classic.

I dont know, maybe its my fault. All kids have bikes, so, I got one for Mike...
You didnt teach him about the rules of the road?
I thought he had a little common sence..
What if you tried driving your car without knowing the rules?
But..but bikes are different.
Only because they dont have motors.

The VW ad where they drove the car into a river, let it float downstream, then drove it back out.

One ad that was really boss was for the GTO when it first came out. It was a cartoon of a guy in a GTO at a stoplight next to another car, both drivers acting like they want to drag.

Pf Flyers: "Run faster! Jump higher!"
Wonder Bread: "Helps a body grow 12 ways!"
------both taken off due to accusations of false advertising.
And, hey, why not bring up the Noxema ad again with Britt Eklund at the peak of her prime, saying: "Take it off, take it all off".
For me, that's still the sexiest commercial I've seen.

" and they ask me why I drink"
