Hey everyone...I was wondering what the best way to go about cleaning my hard drive is? I'd like to just save my documents/data and redo the whole thing to get away from the many bigs and whathaveyou that have developed over the years.

I was think of buying a Zip drive to back-up, but I might have to use FAR too many discs to do that.

Should I buy/download a program or can I just format the C: drive and use the System Restoration CD that came with my computer?

Also: I have used SureDelete to get rid of files and completely clean that area of the hard drive- how do I go back and get rid of the files I deleted traditionally to completely delete them?

Thanks for any help!! :)

if you use the restore cd that came with your computer, it will stop most casual attempts to recover data on the machine. As for the data - yea you have a problem with what to do with your data - get a second disk (internal) and copy your data to it as a backup. Make sure you have all your programs you installed since getting the machine too - I had my machine die on me and spent the better part of the day gathering things together - the next time it died (a week later - dont ask) it only took a couple of hours to get back up again.
