Digital Camcorders??

Hey, im thinking about getting a Digital Camcorder, i dont want to spend too much under 1 grand...does anyone here know which ones are better then others...i want it to be under a grand, but pref. under $600, but not many that are under $600...if anyone knows anything, i will appreciate it thank you.

I've been very happy with my Canon ZR40. Got mine at
Best buy, and even after buying a case, an extra
battery pack, and a few tapes, the bill came in at about
$650.

The only thing that has been a problem is that it tends
to film a little dark (at least in novice mode, which I
usually use), but that can be doctored up in iMovie, or
whatever software you PC users have. Maybe it's time
for me to move out of novice mode...

I have a nice Digitial8 (8mm tapes) camcorder I bought over the summer. Its from sony, and I bought it for $600, but I think it has been discontinued. www.sonystyle.com

I suggest a miniDV format tape though.
