I am jealous of Devils Fans

NJ Devils fans. I am very jealous of you for the following reasons.

Even though I hate the devils, year after year they end up with one of the best regular season records.

your defensive system is so goddam solid and, therefore always winning those close games

your teams payroll is a fraction of the rangers, but year after year the devils are in the postseason.

each year the devils lose key players to free agency but always know how to rebound from those losses and still be consistent.

On behalf of all pissed off Ranger fans like myself, to all you devilsfans. I am so F'N JEALOUS!!!!!

I think that Devils fans haven't realized how great they have had it for the last 10 years. I have been an Islander fan since 1993, and before last year, I have not had much to cheer about in April. I had a great introduction to the Isles in 1993 by watching them upset the Capitals (Damn you Hunter, Damn you to hell!),and the Penguins before losing in 5 games to the eventual Cup winners (the Habs). We all know what happened in 1994. The Isles were just a stepping stone to the OilHawks...I mean the Rangers winning the Cup. Since then I have been stuck watching the Devils in the postseason. Not that I hate the Devils at all. I've enjoyed rooting for them in the playoffs from 1994 on. I just always hated the fact that the early playoff games were never sold out. And even the games that were sell outs, the fans always seemed dead. Like the Atlanta Braves, it became "another year, another playoffs". (Except 1996) I know that there a lot of true Devils fans out there. It just always seemed like they came out when they were good and ready or when the Devils were in the finals. The fans became too spoiled. My friends and I used to define Devils fans like this. People who hate the Rangers and people who are sick of the Isles losing.

Even as a Devils fan I have to agree that many fans of the Devils have gotten a bit spoiled. Wednesday nights playoff game against the Bruins only had a little over 15,000 fans there. Dont know if it is too much of a hassle to get out to the arena in the swamp, or the prices are too high for some, but the simple fact is this organization deserves fan support. They've put a quality product on the ice for over a decade now. It is time that the fans, including myself, did a better job of getting our asses out to the games.

I agree with this. I'm a Rangers/Mets fan so I know what sport- suffering is about. I always say that it must be great to be a Yankees fan and always see your team win. I'm a Dolphins fan as well. Usually, they give me some winning,but last years debacle...

Just to show you guys where I am on this whole thing. It's tough for a lot of Devils fans to get to the games. I go away to school so I have little or no time during the season to get to games, I only wind up seeing about 4 games a year. However, I just went to the playoff game tonight and I shelled out 50 bucks to sit in the last row, the ticket prices are fuckin insane. Now I love them, and if I can catch another game on a weekend or when I'm home during the playoffs I'll gladly pay the money and go, but in all honesty not everyone is ready and willing to pay 50 dollars for the cheapest seats in the arena. To sit in the lower section it's gonna run you about 85-90 dollars a seat, that's a little steep in my opinion.
