I went to the Cheetah Club last night. They actually had "cigarette check" for one dollar. If you don't check them, the person who frisks you crushed them right in front of you. I thought I was going to cry. Then the bartender gave me a cigarette, my friend and I were smoking it like a joint. We were looking around...making sure no one was looking...it was pathetic. Plus, I was drunk...which made it even worse.

I am from Maryland, and my wife and I were in the city the Saturday before and the Sunday after and WE were pissed. I can't believe that crap would fly in THAT city of all places. I predict it won't last. But it sucks in the meantime, for sure.

I lost count of how long it's been since I quit smoking. I think its been 4 weeks or so. When I got home from Bar9 the other day I realy noticed how different things are without smoking. It's kinda nice to come home smelling the same way you did when you left the house. I know people are gonna hate to hear this, but I think the strict non-smoking laws helped me quit. Granted, it's only been a short time and there is a chance that I might lose my will power. Hopefully, this won't be the case.

tuesday was my first time in the city after the bill passed. i noticed a lot of different things...

not once did i cough all night
my eyes and throat didnt bother me
i didnt get an awful cold the next day
i came home smelling as fresh as i did when i walked in

everyone was hanging out outside and barely came back in :(


all in all, i love this new law but i miss my peeps.
