I have these annoying adds that continue to pop up. There generated from a file in my Winnt folder, system 32 file. It is called Messager Service and is called 'csrss.exe'. It won't let me delete or remove it. I've tried removing it via pop up programs as well as spy programs. No success. Does anyone know anyway to get rid of this crap?

Stick your computer in a MRI. That should wipe out any problems.

Process File: csrss or csrss.exe
Process Name: Client/Server Runtime Server Subsystem
Description: The Windows Client Server Runtime Subsystem handles Windows and Graphics Functions for all Subsystems
Common Errors: N/A
System Process: Yes

In other words, you can't delete it. It's a system process file.

Shit, I have the same problem. I just got done loading Win XP and this thing with the messenger windows is seriously driving me insane. Do you by chance happen to have a copy of Windows that was, say, "borrowed" from the internet?

You have a legit copy and you're still having this problem? Um. That is strange. I thought it was just my ripped copy that was doing it. I figured it was my punishment for stealing software. Well, wish I could help you but I'm pretty sure the only thing that could help us would be to reinstall windows. Or if you have one of those upgrade packs for Win I would try that.

First, check to ensure that the file hasn't been corrupted or replaced with a trojan version. Information details are available on microsoft.com.

If you are running on a broadband connection (cable, DSL) then it is possible that you're receiving these ads from the net. A recent exploit for sending pop-ups via Windows messaging components was announced. The easiest way to stop it was to disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP.

If you're running Windows NT, Microsoft has announced that they will not release a software repair for this, so you're SOL.

If you want, rfmail me and I'll send you some info.

If you are using XP Professional and get those pop-ups, STOP trying to delete files. You will end up screwing up your computer!!

Click Start->Control Panel
Click Performance and Maintenance
Click Administrative Tools
Double-click Services
Scroll down and highlight "Messenger"
Right-click the highlighted line and choose Properties
Click the STOP button.
Select Disabled or Manual on the Startup Type drop-down menu
Click OK

Now please stop whining.

If your still having problems, do what i do:

Begin slapping the moniter, saying things like "you think you're special, huh?" "You ain't that big"

Move on to suckerpunching, throwing around the mouse, etc. "You still dont wanna work?" "Say I won't!"

kick the tower, smash the keyboard on the wall, toss around the monitor. "Get big! Get big, bitch!" "You ain't pretty no more!!"
