This morning there was an ad on the radio from the NYPD. It was a notice to all the "Peace Protesters" not to attack the cops who are assigned to their ridculous rallies instead of doing more important police work. This pisses me off to no end. Not quite a year and a half removed from a day when hundreds of these men and women selflessly laid down their lives, and these piss-ant, spoiled brats need to be reminded that the police are there defending them and their rights to free speech and assembly, no matter what.
This is completely surreal to me. I have to repeat it just to make sure it sinks in. So-called peace protesters have to be asked NOT TO ATTACK THE POLICE WHO ARE THERE PROTECTING THEM!!!
Unbelievable.

I wish I could say it's "unreal" but the reality of these "peace protests" are clear to all who look.

I heard the same ad this morning. It's pretty fucked up that they had to go on the radio and remind people that they're the ones trying to keep the city safe.

it is instinctual to resist against the people trying to arrest you. Sometimes you have to be reminded that with "civil disobedience" comes arrest.
In Oakland they fired rubber bullets on a peaceful crowd to get them to disburse (i posted this on another thread). It takes a tremedous force of will to stay non-violent in that situation.
I'm not saying that it makes them innocent, but if you're at the peak of your emotion, Police are ready to arrest or do worse to you, and you're surrounded by pure chaos and rage . . . yes, you might need a reminder.

I hope there's another Kent State.
That'll get them to wise up.
