My taxes were done and mailed in by febuary 16th. I usually do mine early because i always have plans for that money. I don't understand people who wait until April 14th or need to get an extension.

i did my taxes long ago and have gotten both my federal and state refunds already. if you're getting money back i don't understand why you would wait so long either..but if you owed money i could understand. i work for a mutual fund company....obviously a very busy time of the year for us. the worst thing are the assholes that call on April 14th or 15th saying their accountant needs a copy of their 1099's ASAP. well yeah, so do the other 1000 people calling today who won't get them by the deadline. why wait til the last day?

I do mine as soon as I get my W-2s. I usually get a refund from the Feds and owe the state and city.

I just like to get my federal refund to pay my state and local taxes early.

It makes me feel useful.

I hand my w2's to my wife the day they arrive - she sends them with hers to the accountant that week. We've got our $$ already.

I definitely do mine as soon as my W2's and all my bank paperwork comes in. I typically get refunds, so I want to file early so I can get the cash that I've got plans for. Got the money already and it's already been spent!

Typically the end of March. My accountant does his "big clients" before then.

This year i went into H&R Block, and i had always thought they hired out of work actors to do the taxes in their spare time..but i was lucky. My tax preparer was a 25 yr CPA veteran and did a great job explaining everything as he did the return.

Did it in March and had my refund and payements ACH'd into my acct.

I just came from the accountant. The only short term gain from the market tanking is the first refund in years.

whenever the accountant sends me the stuff to sign.

i'm getting a nice refund from the fed and two states this year. i'd be more excited except that i'm only getting that because i'm a poor student with no income now.

Did mine the last week of January, and I just deposited a nice, fat refund check for $1048.00 this past Saturday.

I don't understand people who wait until April 14th or need to get an extension.

Figured out the taxes in mid-March, but didn't mail them in till yesterday since I owe lots of money.

Only a 1/2 hour to go. Hurry. Hurry.

I filed mine the second I got my telefile stuff in the mail back in February (got federal back, but ended up owing half of that to the state). It was nice to only have to file for one job this year, instead of the three to five jobs I usually held in a year's time.
