They're gonna do what they do every year, go 9-7, barely make the playoffs and lose in the first round.

consistency is key... think they need a big receiver and throw to the tight-end a bit more...
Chad had a Great year, can he duplicate it?
This year:
10-6 (AFC Championship / Tennessee 27 - Jets 24)

looking at that schedule i see probably 10-6 and 11-5 is a stretch, the jets have to replace alot of what they lost, pennington is good but w/out a clear cut #1 receiver (and Chrebet is good but hes more of a possesion guy) things dont look great and Santana Moss has just been to injury prone, but i do like Kevin Swayne and think he works hard and should get more reps
plus ill be at the game opening night at Fed Ex to watch the redskins kick the ever loving piss out of the jets
and before you bash me i am a redskins fan but the jets are my second favorite team in the NFL, and the only jersey i own is a Curtis Martin jets one(and he is the most underated running back to ever play the game)

I have a good feeling that the jets will have a record of 10-6, or 11- 5 and will at least make it to the afc championship game

This is the Jets vs. the ex-Jets game. How great would it be if John Hall misses a game winning field goal at the last second.
I'm still pissed at that non-partial ( Redskin season ticket holder ) arbitrator who awarded Morton to the Skins. I hope the Redskins never win another game.
Prediction: 11-5, and they make it to the Super Bowl

so by non-partial you mean the fact that he owns season tickets right. The thing to do is read more into the story, because the arbitrator on his own revealed to the Redskins, jets, NFLPA, and the management people that he was a season ticket holder and asked all groups if they wanted him excused and all parties said NO. they said that they thought it would not impact the situation, so dont go crying about something being unfair till you know the whole story.
and how can you cal the redskins the ex-jets, that would make sense if you wanted to call the ravens the Baltimore Browns because Cleavland was the ones who were cheated. The redskins merely targeted the people that could help, the guard the redskins signed Thomas was considered the #2 free agent guard available behind the guy from the Raiders (his name escaped me), Laverneus ( a player who asked the jets not to match the offer) was signed for a $13 million signing bonus when had the redskins drafted a rookie stud WR they would have paid him the same type of bonus, again the redskins went after the best player on the market at the position. And morton said although he liked the time he spent w/ the jets he wasnt involved in the offense, he said he would return a couple of kicks and that was it the redskins gave him the chance to play some offense.
But other then that the redskins have signed or traded for players from the following teams: Rams, Packers, Bucs, Raiders, Cowboys and are in talks with players from the Dolphins, Seahawks and Vikings
the real issue here is the inability of the Jets management to keep the players happy, and by not singing laverneus they free up the room to resign pennington and Abraham next year

uhhuh
but i don think the jets have lost that much....i think the signing of conway voids teh absence of coles.....and if mortna sint gonna take kicks, Moss will so whats to worry about? we lost hall but im glad but we picked up a better kicker in return...and we released Turk and i think he was one shitty punter.........so hey the jets did what they felt was right...and wait til they have officialy blown the season for you to start saying we blew the offseason....
but we do have to play hard in our division, everyone else has gotten better so we just have to play better with what we've got!!!

Geez........I thought this kind of reply only happened in the politics section. In other words, lighten up Francis........it's only a game.

Just remeber that the only reason the jets even had a chance at the playoffs was that the Patriots beat the Dolphins in week 17. If it wasnt for that you guys woulda never even had the opportunity to get your asses kicked by the Raiders. Your WR's suck and your defence is nothing special. Your RB is old and your QB is young. 9-7 last year got you in on tie-breakers but remember that the other two contenders have gotten better. Good luck with Santana Moss as your go-to-guy!

Really do you honestly think Conway is equal to Coles lets compare:
In Conways best season 7 years ago he caught 81 balls for 1049 yards and 7 touchdowns since that season he has played in all 16 games only once (2001 is 2nd best year) and his production has steadily declined and the 2001 numbers are somewhat jaded because the Chargers were constantly playing from behind and threw alot, not to mention that by the start of the season he will be 32
while Laverneus is coming off his best year as a pro, has steadily improved each of his 3 years and is about 7 years younger then Conway
Now if you call that about equal then what is your comparison for the difference between the upgrade of Peerless Price over the Falcons #1 guy last year: Barely an Upgrade?
or that hamstirng injury Moss will be as good as Morton who had over 1500 return yards last year and will return punts now for the skins
and no replacement for a stud LG sets up alot of problems but like i said w/out a clearly #1 receiver Pennington may struggle, and as much as i like him Curtis Martin is just another year older (but is LaMont Jordan the answer)
I realize you are a jets fan but come on to say that the jets are better off is a far far cry from being true especially like you said w/ the AFC East so improved i.e. the bills d, and the pats D

man Patrick Ramsey is the truth all those who say the skins have no qb haven seen this guy play and with an improved O-line things could work out well especially if you look at the redskins schedule and the fact that Philly is going to have a major overhaul of their D

i love this guy
hey i never said the jets were better...i just said they arent as bad as ppl are thinking..... and i do expect conway to play at least decent ball. he isnt gonna b forced to run down field all that often, he'll just drop 6 or 7 yards down the field and wait for the ball....no one thought the jets could have put 2gether the season they did last year.....and they did it anyway. also that 9-7 record was bullshit last season...if pennington had started 16 games we wouldve had a better record. and i think herman edwards will coach this team beautifully...hes the best coach 2day with the exception of Parcells.
the jets are the definition of a new york team.
no talent...but shitloads of heart.....just like the knicks and mets.
the AFC east may have gotten stronger on paper...but come 9/4/03 at 9pm.... we'll see the jets play as a unit, and u will see the super bowl bound J-E-T-S JETS!!! JETS!!! JETS!!! as hammerhead put it.....

I feel the jets have a good chance making it pretty far in the playoffs. They lost coles but i think chad will being throwing more to the number 1 daft pick from a few years ago, anthony bect. Cherbet i think will step up and have a great year. Conway and Moss should both have good years. The jets are one of the most blanced teams in the NFL, they are a force to be delt with.

I'm looking at 10-6....but the December schedule is a killer. They have to get home field advantage throughout the playoffs, so 10-6 won't do it. I'm hoping AFC Championship game.
