1997 Was the last year that the Rangers made it into the playoffs. Since then they have become the biggest disappointment of the NHL. Overpaid primadonnas and bad coaching led to the rangers becoming a 2nd rate hockey team. Even though I hate the devils, they are doing something right. They have a low payroll, and still year after year they end up with one of the best regular season win loss percentage, while the rangers payroll gets bigger and bigger, their hockey playing gets worse and worse.
