DPM went to my alma mater. Another classmate worked for him as a staff aide. Told me that everyone in DC would say that if he didn't have that nasty habit of drinking scotch for breakfast, it was commonly believed he would have been President. Pickled as he was most of the time, his brilliance and erudition always was evident, although he could be way inscrutable, especially his books.

NY has had some great Senators recently, Jacob Javits and DPM among them. It's embarrassing that we added Alphonse D'Amato to that legacy...and don't get me started on the most evil person in the USA.. Hillary Clinton. I can't forgive DPM for championing her. DPM's support of her was like opening up a vial of anthrax on New Yorkers.

He deserves to be honored and should be honored in some way (perhaps with a statue).

But I prefer Pennsylvania Station. Let's maintain some tradition.

Not trying to sound negative but I only heard good things of the man after he left office.

Im surprised there are no details about when the New Penn Station is going to be built, and its cost Ect ect. However I think its a wonderfull idea naming the new Penn Station Daniel Patrick Moynihan Station.
