Since tyhe boyz have gone off the air I have found myself listening to the right thinking right wing station WABC. Oh I am being brainwashed through the air waves, all I wanted was a respite from the same songs over and over and over again. What do I get? some of the scariest media I have ever experienced in my life. I know that people who don't have the ability to sift through the propaganda are taking this stuff at face value. And slowly I am becoming more and more conservative llike a cancer I am looking at liberals like idiot HACKS. College protesters Like misguided dilletantes. I need my RON AND FEZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Opie and Anthony were no where near as OBSCENE as the 'SAVAGE NATION' or "RUSH never served in the military but you can go LIMBAUGH' the Hypocrisy is deafening. I support our troops and our president and think that fat guy at the oscars should get a SMACK. but these guys are too much. Yet I can't stop listeniing, Help me Ron Fezz come back puhleeeze!!! before I put on a blue suit and Jackboots.

Have you been getting the mp3s of each night's Ron & Fez show? (see the thread about mp3s below). All the shows since the end of January when the boys have been off NY radio are there. If you download all of them and listen to them one right after the other, they might last you until this war is over (that might be wishful thinking on my part, but I sure hope it's over soon!)
Whatever you do, you must stop listening to those Limbaugh and Savage shows. They are bad for your mental health. Shit, they are just plain bad!

I'm having similar issues. I have no problem with conservative talk, as it is more my lean anyway. I'd be Libertarian, however, if I HAD to have a label. And I know intellectually that Savage is an idiot blowhard, but in the absence of Ron and Fez, I find myself tuning in at least 4 times a week, and sometimes to his replay that used to run 10pm-1am on 1140am(I believe that now runs 8pm-11pm however). There is a welcome breath of honesty to his show, when he's not being a ridculous asshole, and I think his TV show is great. And he's probably the closest thing to Stern as far as a promoter that I"ve ever heard since his heyday. Try the Savage drinking game, and take a swig everytime he mentions his book and you'll be shitfaced by 8:45pm.

Have you been getting the mp3s of each night's Ron & Fez show? It's a great thing these people are doing, but it's just not like live Ron and Fez, where you can call or instant feedback them. Or even talk to them online.

I find myself listening to Bey and Monica on WABC,
followed by Michael Savage, especially since the war started.
I'd much rather hear Ron&Fez and get some comedy mixed with political commentary,
But FM is DEAD in the evenings now...

Richard Bey is an Idiot!!! I've seen him walking down second avenue in a courduroy jacket with no shirt and his trademark cowboy boots practically chasing a woman down like a hunting dog. What an ass!!! I bet he votes republican and is conservative in real life he just likes to be on the air and he'll do anything to stay on. He should be ashamed if he is a liberal cause he is a moron the best thing he could do to help liberals is shut up!!!

John Bachelor and Paul Alexander on WABC late night actually don't have a bad show. I like how they set the news to music when returning from a commercial break to make it more dramatic.
Curtis Sliwa has improved his skills since I've been listening to him over the past 15 years so that he actually sounds like he belongs on the radio. Steve Mahlsberg also has developed into a good host -- he certainly has had enough opportunities in the past 10 years. I'm certainly not a conservative, but in this polical environment, and especially regarding foreign policy, I find that I agree with these guys.
Joan Hamburg has a good New York city show on WOR -- not sure exactly when it is.
I wonder what Jay Diamond is doing these days.
Sunday nights between 10 and 12 there's a good rock program on 104.3.
I've been turned off from public radio recently. Ira Glass is doing all these war programs on This American Life. I wish he'd just get back to what he does best and drop the hoopa.
Nothing that I must listen to ... I try to get RnF MP3s everyday to keep up.

I heard WABC 770 am cancelled Coast to Coast with George Nory....is that true? Also here in philly we get a wonderful talk show on THE BIG TALKEr 1210 AM called the Rolly James show...I have called a few times and she is awesome!
But I am coming home to NJ for summer break from Villanova and I used to fall asleep listening to Art Bell scare his audiences into buying canned food....hope the show is still on the air!
I would REALLY love a new sig pic from some creative person out there!!!!
I love you all,

If you need the show get in touch with me and you will get ron and fez again. I can put you on a direct mailing list to receive each show in 6-8 part segments.

AGREED!
I got sucked into the savage nation last week!
The craziest thing is how they screen their calls to get all the same opinion, from the same nutty people.
R&F will be back.

I agree, there is something not quite right with that boy Bey.
I'm a talk radio junkie and listen to quite a bit of it because I'm on the road all day.
No one will ever touch Ron and Fez for originality and humor, and I miss them tremendously. The only other shows that I enjoy on a regular basis are Rush and Bob Grant. I'll listen to Curtis and Kuby, John Gambling Jr., Bill O'Reilly, Hannity, and whoever else I can find when flipping around the dial, but none hold my attention and entertain me like Limbaugh and Grant.

I can't listen his show now, but I sort of feel bad for Bey. He was doing Spring on channel 9 (WOR back then, from jersey) years before Springer was. If he'd managed to hold out a couple years longer, maybe Bey'd have got to star in Ringmaster.

I listen to a lot more WABC now too.
I always liked them because they are more conservatve and so am I.
I still don't like to listen to the radio past Hannity's show at 6 though. That's still sacred Ron and Fez time in my heart and to listen to another show just feels wrong.
So in their abscence, I've rediscovered The Simpons, The Factor, Hannity and Colmes and other less informative shit on the Cartoon Network.
