Remember the great clubs on LI back in the 80's? Speaks, Hammerheads, Malibu and damn, so many! We always made a road trip to see White Lion, Zebra and Blotto!
Anyone else?

I'm pretty sure that ZEBRA used to get their mail forwarded to Sundance in Bayshore. They played there all the friggin' time!

Hell yeah.........I don't remember the name of the club, but I went to a Sick Mother Fucking Friends of Twisted Fucking Sister party there once..........that's about all I remember of it, except for a friend of mine actually using the pick up line "Hey baby, what's your sign". I turned around and walked away fast.

"My Father's Place" was a great place to see a show. I always made the trek to see Roy Buchanan, Robert Gordon, David Johansen and many others. It was LI's "Bottom Line".

I know you're talking L.I., but do you guys remember Lamour's in B'klyn? I think I spent every weekend there for all my teenage years.Remember some pretty boy bands like White Lion, White tiger & Dreamer. The first band I ever saw was a band called Phantom's Opera in the Rock Palace on S.I. Sorry to go off your topic, But it brought back memories.

There was a club in my hometown of Oyster Bay. Some nights it was "Rum Runners" and some nights it was "Heartbeat." I saw a lot of great bands there in the 80s: The Ramones, The Replacements, The Church, The Bolshoi, The Smithereens, The Fleshtones, 10,000 Maniacs...

I also remember seeing Lords of the New Church at L'Amour Far East in Commack. LI.

You nailed it. My Fathers Place was "Long Island's Bottom Line". Tiny ,(what could it hold 300?) with a stage big enough to hold Springsteen & Company or Asleep at the Wheel. The hookup with WLIR got plenty of "name acts" to come in. It was when FM radio played "any thing" and driver licences didn't have pictures. My HS buds and I would pass the ID down the line to see Jackson Browne and Linda Ronstadt. The sound was usually excellent, remarkable since it use to be a bowling alley. WLIR would broadcast the shows and tons of "bootlegs" of the shows are now showing up on cd.

I remember when Lamour in Brooklyn was a disco that featured bikini chicks oil wrestling on Tuesday nights. Then disco died and the legendary club opened. I would crawl home from that place many nights, it was within crawling distance from where I lived.
I also remember Beggars Opera and Camoflage in Queens and Zappa's in Brooklyn.
LI? I recall being kicked out of a Ramones show from Rumrunners for smoking hash in a ladies room stall with some chick. I also remember some wild nights at Hammerheads.

Ahhhh Heck what great memories !!! the Speaks on Long Beach Road. Twisted Sister and Zebra standing right up by the stage blowing your ear drums out while not feeling a thing. I still remember a one night blow out at Hammerheads where White Lion opened for Twisted Sister and I had to drive home from Islip to Queens in damn Daylight !!

you have two choices: Castration or a one way ticket to New York

This is my first post. Good Rats! I love it. My brothers and sisters used to smuggle me into shows. I'm 30 and none of my friends could ever appreciate it. Thanks for the memory Heckler.
