Jets Offseason

we are probly going to lose mr. coles. although id gladly take the cap hit, it doesnt hit us hard until the 4th year. But the fact that he said he wants to play for the skins kinda makes me want him to go.

but now the Post has reported something new..... Mr. Johnson wants back in NY. I would love for him to come back... but i dont think it would b the best thing for the jets. first of all he and chrebet will have problems, they talked too much smack about one another not too. and i dont think we would b able to afford him, not for long anyway.

but i do like the idea of signing Freeman for a couple of seasons. i think a nice short term contract would b great. i think the 2 years would allow the reciever we draft to gain some experience, and develop a nice relationship with pennington.

disagree? agree? other options? please share we jets fans have to start brain storming, we almost have a superbowl team, we just need that extra sumthin.....

Letting Coles go had nothing to do with cap room 4yrs down the line... Let him walk cause of what his signing bonus would do the team.. At the end of next season Pennington, Becht(sp) and Abraham contracts expire.. so if the jets want to keep them they could not sign coles... if he wanted to stay he could have said no to washington and just asked for a different contract.... so he wanted the money and he got it.. oh well life is a bitch... i just hope we got some good draft picks out of it....

coles > keyshawn, so if the jets let coles go, why oh why would they ever bring back meshawn?

freeman sucks, and no one's even talked about retaining becht. and thats a good thing.

I heard on the radio today that the Jets are in negotiations with Curtis Conway from San Diego. He's an unrestricted free agent, so the Jets won't have to give the Chargers any compensation. Last season he had 57 catches for 857 yards and 5 TD's. On the downside he's had an injury filled career.
