I stumbled across this on blabbermouth.net and got all excited:

IGGY POP AND THE STOOGES To Reunite At COACHELLA VALLEY MUSIC AND ARTS FESTIVAL - Mar. 15, 2003

IGGY POP will reunite with guitarist Ron Asheton and drummer Scott Asheton, his original bandmates in THE STOOGES, for an April 27 performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, according to Rolling Stone. Former MINUTEMEN bassist Mike Watt will join IGGY AND THE STOOGES for the show, taking the place of original bassist David Alexander, who died in 1975.

The performance comes in advance of the summer release of IGGY's next record, which will include four newly recorded songs from THE STOOGES as well as his solo work.

I know MojoPin already mentioned the Coachella Fest in another thread and this really makes me want to go.

I wonder if there will be any eat coast dates for The Stooges after the new Iggy record comes out. Let's hope!

I stopped going to concerts over the last 10 years (except for Stones gigs) This is one I wouldn't miss if they would come to the Tri-State area.

I thought this was going to be about teh THREE stooges. Pretty stupid thought, you know seeing as they're dead and all. Oh well, i can still hope.

It is good to know that I was not the only one thinking about the Three Stooges. I loved them all so much. I WISH there could be a reunion but with all of them dead (I think) that will never come.
