AIM Question

Let me preface this with the fact that I am a computer illiterate. My question is:

Is there a way to prevent others from seeing that my AIM is activated? Or will others always know when I am on AIM?

If you are using AIM, just right click on the person's name and click block buddy.

If you block someone you can talk to them unless you unblock them. You can block eveyrone that's not on your buddy list

No, they just won't see you online. If they have another screen name and have you on that other screen names list, they can see you though.

reeshy, blocking people leads to problems b/c they will somehow find out if you have mutual friends....anywho, i noticed that you say you are computer illiterate and so am i for the most part...how do you post all of those pictures...is it something like [image] the link [image/].....i don't know...help

To answer your question, just go to FAQs amd look up how to post sig pics-it's real easy and simple-can't wait for your first pic-I hope they aren't like a certain person who just tries to get me jealous by showing me all the places he has visited over the years-show off!!! And changes his name just to confuse me!!!

Reeshy-to make it alot easier, and without conflict, in AIM click on "my AIM" then go on to "edit Options/Edit Preferrences" then go to "Privacy" and click on "Only Allot People on my buddy list to contact me" you wont get any annoying IM's this way but if you still block a person and they have a 2nd sn they WILL still see you, they just cant IM you now

Thanks everyone. Grlnin-I took your advice-it works great-there's someone I want to block but I don't want to hurt their feelings-I want them to think I'm not signed on-thanks everyone again!!!!

i hate AIM. besides the fact that its a memory hog, it doesnt have the feature that YAHOO Has that allows you to be "invisible" and see who is logged in etc..but they cant see you logged in. That solves all the problems with blocking someone.
Also YAHOO lets you send 'offline' messages which the person sees as soon as they log in.

AOL sucks.
