Anyone use Maya?

I just got my computer rebuilt (XP, new CD-RW drive, DVD burner, and really cleaned up)

Anyways, I also now have Maya installed on my computer. I've seen "Eyedrops" on TechTV and tons of the short movies are made in Maya. I took one glance at it, definetly complicated. I hope on mastering some day.

Anyone use it, or made anything in it?

I have heard of but NEVER played with Maya. There was this Greek girl once but thatis a WHOLE different story. GREAT rack though.

Anyway, I do most of my modelling in 3D Studio Max. I LOVE that program.

Maybe Mario will respond to this thread. He uses it and I play around with it. I suggest you jump on IRC and download the instructional vids. You can also buy them but they are very expensive. I got all of them from IRC.

Maya is an incredibly complex 3d animation package. I know a little Lightwave and 3DMax but I never had the opportunity to use Maya. 3D was always something I had no patience for. It requires years to master, and I have no intention of pursuing that as a career so what's the point?

i heard it's easier than most 3d rendering packages. i'm learning XSI|softimage and that program is hard as hell.

Satan, as I did with Maya...I suggest you jump on IRC and do a search for XSI vids to get you some help.
