BOTP is making a Huge comeback ( as is everything from the 70's and 80's these days).
Sandy Frank Ent. is planning to re-release the old episodes in an updated format ( Some new stuff added but with all the old voice talent intact).
Diamond Comics recently released all 5 of the G-force members in convenient Action Figure format, Right now Mark, Tiny, Princess, Jason and Keyop are adorning my bookshelf.

Like I said, my brother and I loved it as kids. As adults, we watched it the other night on DVD.
My blood was pumping as I heard the theme. Then I said to my brother: Watching this is better than sex. He almost wet his pants laughing.
I climaxed the first time the team did the famous Whirlwind Pyramid.
There's tons of great BOTP sites on the internet with excellent Fan Art and Fan Ficition,
Keye Luke did several of the voices also. Keye Luke is better know as Master Po from the old TV series Kung Fu.

WOW...I thought I was the only one who watched this. Everyone I've ever tried to explain this cartoon to looked at me like I had a penis growing out of my forehead. I have to pick this up on DVD.

What, you can't share with all of us?
The wierd part is, I loved it as a kid, then I forgot about it. I guess I was younger than I remember when I watched it. Then, I'm slacking off in senior Art class in high school, doodling instead of working on a project, when all of a sudden it hits me: the name, the theme music, the transformation sequence, the Phoenix attack, 7-Zark-fuckin'-7, the whole thing. I say the name out loud. I explain it to my friend next to me, and he goes, "I've been trying to figure out what that show was called for ages."
And that's what it means to be a geek.
Anywho, if you can rent them, the updated video series they did in Japan ten years back (they call it Gatchaman) is pretty cool also. They took three episodes, linked them together, and updated the designs and animation, leaving in the wholesome Japanese bloodshed. That, and Joe's G-2 is so much better as a GT Cobra that transform into a Batmobile with a hood mounted Gatling Gun.
God, I'm a tool.

I discovered that the BOTP DVDs also have the full original Japanese versions of each episode on them with English subtitles.
The un-edit Japanese versions are much, much better. But of course you have to read them. In the Japanese version, there's no 7-Zark-7 and the episode are much better because they are not chopped up to remove some of the violence. Plus the sound and image quality is much better.

Not to sound like a complete geek....BUT....when I was little my mother actually sewed GForce costumes for both my brother and me for Halloween. Also I'm big into collecting old toys or toys relating to things from childhood and I actually have "McFarlane-esque" figures of the entire GForce team and the lead villian which I can't remember his name.

Thanks for the welcome. I've been a long time lurker and a long time listener of the show. Unfortunately being up in CT I haven't been able to listen to them live in a while. I try to keep current by listening to shows by alternate means and they haven't changed a bit.
Keeping my fingers crossed on all the speculation.

Great to see this thread back to life. I just got 85 episodes on DVD. My brother, his kids and I all have shirts with the Phoenix logo on it. I had them made. Plus I also made the wrist band communicators/transmuting bracelets.
My niece can sing the Japanese version of the theme song.

I really want to see Starblazers again. I liked that show as much as Battle of the Planets. I'd consider buying the seasons but would like to see if they hold up.
I always like the weapons they had more than the vehicles. Mark's was very cool. And Jason would launch every missile they had, even though they were rarely any use...but he'd exhaust their entire supply by over-pushing that damn button.

Now I'm starving
I'm about to turn it up a notch!

I always wondered why they didn't have phasers/lasers. The Phoenix itself could transmute into the Fiery Phoenix, but they still used conventional missiles.

Imagi Studios' Gatchaman will be a cool superhero movie, set against the backdrop of an alien threat of world domination and the epic battle this ignites. To be brought to the big screen in spectacular stereoscopic 3D, this CG-animated motion picture will deliver a feast for the eyes in exceptional weaponry, distinctive strike vehicles and light-speed action sequences, all played against a dazzling futuristic visualization.
Featuring stealthy ninja-style shadow fighting to grand-scale clashes, this fast-paced sci-fi action-thriller focuses on a lone-wolf maverick youth who, together with a team of teenage superheroes, finds his destiny in defending Earth against the dark forces of Galactor.
Gatchaman is based on the hit 1970s Japanese television series from Tatsunoko Production, known in the West as G-Force or Battle of the Planets. It is presently in pre- production.
