it would help if you had a job that can give you good healthcare coverage.

The government hooks me up. Who can say "universal coverage"? And best of all, it's paid for by YOUR taxes. SUCK IT UP, AMERICA.

I've got United Healthcare - not the HMO but the PPO - and I only pay about $30 a month for coverage. Then again, I work for a company that the only good thing about it is the healthcare coverage.
... look what i just done said ...

Healthcare in this country sucks my ass. Just like everything else in life..you got be be overcharged for your service. And in my opinion, medical services should be welcomed with a fee, but not denied without such.

Each year my employer shops around for a "better plan". This means every year I go "doctor shopping". Only once was my "primary" on the following years plan. Is it any wonder people "self-medicate"?

I get low-cost insurance through my employer. It is so low that it would piss people off to hear how much I pay.
As for universal health insurance it's probably a bad idea. If you make it "universal" the rich will get it as well as the poor and you will hear complaints about that too. Especially if they get some ridiculous cosmetic surgery, which they will justify for self-esteem. Didn't some German actress get breast implants on Germany's universal insurance system?

I am not sold on the idea of 'universal medical coverage'...but it's a far reach from the corporate companies running the current system. Hmo's, pharmaceutical companies, etc.. I think there should be fee's for medical coverage and treatment...but on the same hand, no one should be denied treatment or coverage due to lack of funds.

you guys with JOBS are lucky in this market to have them. I was wondering if anyone actually pays out of pocket. I do because im unemployed. Walking in off the street and paying Aetna, USHC or Cigna for example costs around $ 400.00 a month. I know you can get FREE healthcare from the govt but you have to meet a BUNCH of criterea to meet the requirments.
