Don't you just love the Albany area? Such free thinkers. Maybe if they'd stop sucking on GE's nipple for a moment, they'd realize just how retarded this was.

I already brought this up in the "why are some ASHAMED to be American thread"...though the article I posted made the whole issue seem even stupider since it claimed the man had just bought the t-shirts in that very mall. Durrrrrrrr...
But it IS private property, and really, what the mall says goes. Lord knows I've used that reasoning in my store plenty of times. So I just find this bothersome if the mall is actually selling the very t-shirts they're trying to keep out of sight, because that's just monumentally stupid.

Crossgates Mall sucks. It is the epitome of sprawl, a hideous monstrosity filled with dumb looking people on what was once pine barrens. I think they even endangered some native butterfly.
But all that is besides the point I guess.

I remember when this was farmland as far as the eye could see. Old man Peabody had an idea about breeding pine trees...

This "just" in. Charges have been dropped. Dunno if it had anything to do with it, but the guy seems to be a high powered attorney. Youd think he'd have a little more respect for the law...or was it his intention to get arrested/publicity?

I GUARENTEE the Hot Topic in that mall sells some sort of Cradle of Filth T-shirt that says something to the effect of 'Jesus is a CUNT" on it, but PEACE is offensive? WE ALL WANT PEACE!!!! We just disagree on the right way to achive it.
I don't agree with the anit-war appeasers but kick out the kids with the Eminem shit before the peacenicks. At least they won't get in a big group and try to bully kids.

Youd think he'd have a little more respect for the law...or was it his intention to get arrested/publicity?
But what "law"? The mall sold him the friggin' t-shirts...until they go that extra step and not actually carry them in the first place, it shoots any defense they may have right out the window...

But what law?
The guards returned with a police officer who repeated the ultimatum. The son took his T-shirt off, but the father refused.
"We don't care what they have on their shirts, but they were asked to leave the property, and it's private property," (police chief)Murley said
That law.

And like I said, I've used that reasoning at my own store...but what was the reason they felt the need to enforce the law? Was it a "disturbance" caused by the shirts? Fine...but why would the mall be selling them in the first place? That just makes a really skewed, hypocritcal, and frankly, stupid mangling of the law. Isn't the mall itself then disturbing its own customers by SELLING the shirts just as much as the two guys wearing them?
That's like me throwing someone out of my store for reading a book I hate, but sell anyways.

I agree that the mall shouldnt sell the shirts. But the fact remains, THIS guy disobeyed the law, and was rightfully arrested.

Fair enough.
But it's still an awfully stupid situation.
