On the first meeting with any of you, I will usually look like an ass (like on Friday) and call one by his or her screenname and get hollared at.

After I get to know any of yous though, I try and remember the real names. I know a few and I really don't mind getting called flufy either. That turns me on. Besides that, angel or dumpling will do.

well, Its easier if your name has all letters or the numbers replace letters, but just a few letters and a bunch of numbers are not easy to remember.

For me it all depends, I call people board names in person but i can also call them their real name. I guess it comes to the point where i don't want to yell, "Hey Tom!" and get twenty people looking sating which one.
and i am always called my board name, only because it sounds like such a real name

My family calls me one thing, friends - another, close friends - one of several nicknames I've accumulated over the years, board members from here and another board I'm in, usually V. I dont like my given name, so I actually feel more its more personal when people use nicknames with me. It feels official when people use my full name or the shortened version of it.. probably because it reminds me of teachers in school calling on me.. also what work peeps call me. Plus, you cant mispronounce "Vee"

I started out as the boyfriend of a board member (Too Cute), known by my real name, Grant. Then I began posting and most people called me by my Board name and I did them same.

Then Ron started calling me just "The Chairman."

The moral of the story is that I was glad I picked the name Chairman Kaga (which has now been shortened to The Chairman.) I could have picked Shit for Brains, Prick Head or Ass Wipe. These names might have been more accurate, but serendipitously, I picked a fine appellation.
