I was visiting my parents, and the have digital cable. Among the hundreds of channels they have, there are 4 or 5 variations on MTV and VH1 (spanish MTV, country VH1, etc.), including VH1 classic, which is just old videos. Their focus is mostly on 80s videos, but sometimes they show pre-80s classic rock performance clips.
The thing that makes it so great, is that they play all the old videos you know, some you saw back in the 80s but mostly forgot about, and some that you're pretty sure that you never saw -- and most of them are much, much worse than you remember. Tuesdays are great, because they do two-fers, whicj means you're likely to see a fairly well known video by an 80s artist and then a forgotten crap video by that same artist. You haven't seen cheese until you re-watch some of those lesser-known Jefferson Starship and Loverboy videos.
It's great -- it's like re-living my formative years with a jaundiced eye.
