Does anybody use this service? I just signed up for the DVD service and it looks good. I used a special promotional code i found on the net and got 7 dvds for 30 bucks with a commitment for 4 in the next two years. It sounded pretty good to me.

I must owe Columbia House massive amounts of money from those damn selection of the weeks that they would send you if you didn't send back that damn card. They won't track me down though! I actually preferred BMG to Columbia House, but you are saving money in the long run.

Actually you just got to call them up with your membership number and tell them you want to be preferred member. Then they won't send you the selection of the month.

WHen I first became a member of Columbia house about 7 or 8 years ago, I did do that, but they still sent the cards and cd's, so it was no win for me.

i used them.its cool at first,but then when you start paying full price with ship/hand you are gunna be payin like $35 for a movie ou can buy in the store for $20

If you average it out it comes to about 10 bucks a DVD usually. That sounds like a good deal to me.

Those CD scam places are the best.
Really in the long run if you buy a bunch, they average out to be very cheap.
I usually only use them for older albums, because it usually takes them like 6 months to get " new " CDs.
Another good thing with them is for box sets. You can usually get box sets for almost 60% off what you'd pay in the store.
I dont know how they make their money. I know loads of people that take that initial shipment of like 8 Cds and never send them a dime.
Most cost them pennies to set that up, thats why they can take so many losses.

AM, I used a similar code. 7 for like $30 and then another 3 in 3 years. Of course, most of my signup cds were criterions or kevin smiths, where they're normally $30 or more each.

And PanterA, if you ever get the DVD, can I have it? ;)

There is something in the rules of colubia house sign up for it Fulfill the buy requrement then cancel then i think it's like 6 month or maybe a year and you can join all over again and get the deal

Once you fill your requirement you can cancel and get a new account right away.
