I'd work on the top floor. I am of the firm belief what is meant to be, is meant to be.

Im sure once the new WTC is completed, they might redirect the air space around lower manhattan and WTC

Why not?

Two young men who I grew up with lost their lives at 1 Trade Center on September 11th. That brought me face to face with Death.

I spent the next year afraid to Live.

If I continue to be afraid, what have I gained? And have I really Lived? Or just Existed?

I currently work in Newark, NJ. My life is in jeopardy every day; what would change if I worked in a high rise?

No way.I know of 15 children who lost there moms and dads. One of my cousins, was on maternity leave when the garage was bomded with her first child. That child is now 9, and cries every night. My cousin use to be able to sit at her desk and see her house and watch the ships come and go in the harbor.http://www.legacy.com/LegacyTribute/Sept11.asp?Page=TributeStory&PersonId=133574

I too would be honored to work there. I used to work for Shearson at the World Financial Center & walked thru the WTC at least twice a day.

I'd gladly work there. You can't go 'round worrying about these things. Live life to the fullest, I say.

My only reservation is my minor phobia of elevators. I worked on the 37th floor of a building for three years. For a year, my palms would sweat everytime I got in the elevator.

Other than that, of course I'd work there!

I would... if anything is gonna happen, its gonna happen.

When they raised the terror alert last month and said high rise hotels were a threat, I didn't change my plans, I still went out and stayed in a hotel (in Times Square no less) as planned.

I was incredibly frightened right after 9/11, but I'm not going to let it affect where I would work or how I conduct my life.

And how exactly does that help if someone hijacks a plane?

Anyway - I think the question itself is a moot point. The question assumes that the next terrorist strike will be similar to the last. To have such short sight to think that any new terrorist attack will just be a repeat of the WTC attack, is just gullible.

Remember, the WTC towers were destroyed because they were a symbol of American financial power - NOT simply because they were big. That financial symbolism was felt by the developers in the 60s as much as it was by the terrorists - only in the terrorists' minds, this financial power was seen as American EVIL. The new (awful-looking) tower will be more a memorial than anything, a symbol of rebuilding, not being afraid. They probably would not see it as a symbol of evil, therefore I think it would be a less likely target.

Anyway, I'd work there if my job was there, but I wouldn't like it..... I fucking hate the new design.

not if i can help it...

I truly believe we're just creating another mouth watering target but if they didn't build it the terrorists would look to take down the Empire State Building instead...

Wall Street to me has become a symbol of Greed and Corruption... The average Joe and Josephine have taken it so far up the butt that even if you stick the new buildings up there, there would be plenty of room for a finger or two...
:)

things will quiet down and maybe, just maybe, one of these fucking Enron executives or Merrill Lynch analysts will spend a day in jail but then it will go back to business as usual...

I disagree. If anything, the question asks us if we assume the terrorists will strike the same place twice. Most people who assume it will, will say no. Most who believe as you and I do, that it will not, will probably say yes.
Of course, they could aim for it just as a symbolic "Stay down!" but I doubt that they will and if they tried, I doubt they'd be able to pull it off.
I'd work there. Hell, I'd sleep in my office on late, drunken nights in the city same as I do where I presently work.

I also have a small elevator phobia. When I go on those highspeed high-rise elevators like at the empire state building, my stomach churns. Also, I also am scared of roofs of highrise that you can slip off of. I am also scared of big windows in highrise buildings. Other than that, im good to go!
