When the country went to alert level orange on feb 7, the media jumped all over it. They broke into the broadcasts to announce the change. They changed they little banners on the bottom of the TV to say "Alert Orange!" what this might mean for America. How safe are we? will we be attacked? how much duct tape can you get your hands on?!!

Well, I came in this morning and i my email was a memo that we were going back down to yellow. I thought 'Good, this might put some people at ease.' Did the media jump over this? no. Did the local news mention it(as of 1400hrs)? no. Was this at any point the headline on CNN, or FoxNews? no.

Why? Is this not news? wouldn't this generate rating too?

Why? Is this not news?

Because the chance of it meaning YOU AND YOUR FAMILY MAY DIE BEFORE THE NEXT COMMERCIAL BREAK is slim to none.

They were held up in the parking lot. Just be glad that you weren't #37.

it was the top story on the news for me, but then again I listen to NPR which doesn't rely on media-tainment

Actually, my local news station kept saying over and over that ''level yellow is not, we repeat, IS NOT a signal for the country to relax'' and again reminded us to stock up on duct tape ''just in case.''
