Hypocrites vs Hippocrates

I see a lot of people calling one another "hippocrate(s)." Now a hypocrite is one who makes false statements or professes beliefs that one does not actually hold. Hippocrates, however, is the Greek physician who layed the foundation for modern medicine. So if you go around calling someone a "hippocrate," I suppose you're calling that person a medical student?

I believe this so-called foundation has given way to a brand new "modern medicine". It is truly a disservice to Hippocrates linking him to the medical industry mess of today. :($$$$$$:(
