i severely messed up my knee

on sunday, i had went to CBGB's to see Blood For Blood and Ramallah play. It was a really good show. I saw a lot of old heads i havent seen in a while.

But it was a really good time... except for this girl i was *kinda* seeing for fuckin me over... f that cunt, seriously...

but anyhow... after the show was over, i was hanging out with the boys for a while before they went back to boston.

So i went to my pathfinder, and i was carefully walking to it and i slipped on the ice and my left knee had buckled in the wrong way and now i cannot put any weight or pressure on it. I was down on the ground for 20-30 minutes, i did black out because the pain was so great. no one could see me because i was inbetween the snow bank and my car.

eventually I was able to crawl into my pathfinder and i just sat there for a while. I've had surgery on both knee's, in 1994 i had surgery on this knee(my left one) and in this past june i had surgery on my right knee. thank god it was my left knee because i was still able to drive.

I no longer have insurance so i really do not know what i am going to do. I know i have to go to the doctor... that is going to be about 70 bucks. And i know i am going to need x-rays and those are like 300-400 bucks.

If i have to go to my orthopedist, that is going to be about 200 bucks... and to get an mri, it is about $2500.00. I do not have this loot to throw around.

I really should start up a collection and see if people would help me out, but i do not like hand outs... my morals are to high for that.

So i just wanted to let everyone know that i am not doing well.

Public Hospitals offer care to everyone and charge fees based on income. If you don't qualify for government insurance, you can still provide them with your pay stubs etc., and they cannot deny you medical care no matter what.

I hope you feel better, my knee dislocates all the time and the pain is unbearable.

I hope you're ok. You mentioned to me once that your knees were a bit messed up. You might have to have that one scoped out if there was any cartilege damage. Silera's right though, a public hospital can't deny you treatment and they charge on a sliding scale (that's why they charge so much for people with insurance). so go get that checked out.

Hey man, I really REALLY hope things get better. Kind of puts quite the damper on what sounded like an awesome evning. Take care of yourself and if I were in this predicament, I would just go to the emergency room and see what could be worked out. If ANYTHING maybe they would take care of it a bit and just bill you. I'm no medical expert here but thats my cheap advice. Again, hope all gets better.

and also to give everyone a little update... a lot of the swelling has gone down on my knee. I know I am going to get yelled at for this, but i have yet to go to the doctors... and for specific reasons actually why i haven't gone yet. If you really want to know the reason, get a hold of me on AIM or send me rf mail.

But my knee is all black and blue and disgusting looking... it looks like I have gang green. and somethign just doesnt feel right inside of it.(i've had each knee operated on). I now am able to put some pressure back on it... but it is with a tremendous amount of pain though...

That is my weekly update on my knee, even if you arent interested.

and the "fix terror's knee fund" will be up and running soon. right now, just for basic things for my knee and doctors visits, i am looking at anywhere between $4,000-$6,000.

i miss insurance :(

So on wednesday, right now... it looks like i will finally be going to the doctor. Most of the swelling has gone down... it still is swollen... the black and blue still exists, but now my knee is turning that nasty green.

it seriously looks like my knee is getting gang green. ya know when a bad bruise starts to turn green.

i'll keep everyone posted on what happens.
