unemployment sucks

Anyone who has been laid off within the last 6 months to a year can relate to this. The economy is shot, the job market is awful and especially if youre in the finance industry, you definitely know what i mean. Those job boards like monster.com and hotjobs.com have all these job listings but no leads. The worst part s that the economy hasnt even bottomed out yet

yea my moms been out of a job evver since MCi went under. but shes been going bak to skool. and in may she'll have her diploma from NYU so she should find adequate employment soon.(hopefully)

The 2 recessions that Reagan brought us were much worse, as was the one the first Boosh caused.
Forget the job hunt sites.
Go out every day and apply in person for at least one job. Look-em in the eye. Let-em see that you are someone that will fill a need they have.
And don't get all proud and refuse anything not in your field.

Most economists say that it takes about 8 years for a presidents economic policys to take effect. So a sittin president cant really take responisbility for a recession or an economic boom

Yes, it really DOES SUCK, bigtime. The job market has gotten to the point where people are really starting to get hopeless. Pretty soon it's gonna start getting like the 40's and people are just gonna start tossing themselves out windows. Anyone wanna join me?

Maybe, looking into professions that will be potentially high-growth paths is the answer. I've always advised young people to look into the craft's industries (plumbing, carpentry etc) I have friends in these trades and they are driving around in BMW's as they go to their country homes for the weekend. Also. Nursing isn't too shabby either. The salaries are starting to rise again and the job opportunities are incredible. Think about it - not everybody can sit behind a desk!!!
Stay away from civil service (PD, FD etc.) they're not what they used to be and the salaries are not commiserate with what you have to do and know. Trust me, I know!!!!

i love being unemployed i've been reaping the benifits of the state for about 4 months now. i have 3 more months to go before it runs out. i going to get ever last cent from them and then i;ll look for a job in the fucked up job market.
