What is everyone's opinion on building a new Coliseum? Wang seems to have been really pushing for it lately, but I don't really think it is necessary. There is no better place for a spectator to see a football or hockey game. If anyone has noticed the arena's evolution since Wang and Kumar bought the Islanders in 2000, it is fantastic. There is a brand-new Jumbo-tron (that will not fall), a brand new digital score screen, and improved concessions. With these improvements, is a new arena really necessary?

I don't care either way. It's not a bad stadium, it could be better

not true, checkout the Ice Palace in Tampa. 10x better.

It's a dump in the middle of nowhere.
Nassau County has no money..let Wang build a new building. And if he does, bring back the Nets!

Why bother wasting money when it could be put to better use?

I don't think anything is wrong with it. It's still a great place to watch hockey. We don't always need these lousy fancy arenas.

Heckler, you are more right than you know. Every day it seems more and more likely that the Nets are coming home.

It seems that Wang will either buy the Nets to guarantee a new arena or build a new arena to buy the Nets. Basketball is Wang's sport. There are some (myself included) who think that Wang bought the Islanders and Dragons so that he could eventually bring the NBA to Long Island.

There needs to be a new AREANA. Nassau county shouldn't have to pay for it, since well they are completely broke. WANG should build it with his CA money and what ever sponsership he can raise. Some of the areas are terrible to sit in.

Has anyone sat in the 1st row on the second level? You have about 6 inches of leg room between the seats and the concrete separting wall it's terrible and those seats at 100 bucks a peice. Plus with the new areana there will be more parking since then you can drive around the building instead of only half of it.

Plus the little 10 inch lighted signs that are around the banister of the upper deck where it always says "WHHOOOOOOOO" can finally be replaced because there will be more room for better internal lighting.

I do love the Coliseum but I believe it's time to tear it down. Hell the front sign on Jericho Turnpike still uses the 1970's font for the lettering, with the construction sign lights. IT's time for a HUGE upgrade.

Connect the Coliseum to the Marriot and you have a revenue stream because if it's freezing out people will stay for other events before or after the hockey game.
