I'm at work. even though the government is shut down, i had to come. it took me a little over an hour to dig my car out, but i made it into work on time, well close to on time. I didn't see the point in wasting leave when i was off on monday, and i'm off this friday.

The great thing is, I can't leave the office. most of my work takes place away from the office, but the Port Authority were nice enough to bury all of our vehicles. So, I guess i'm just going sit here and not answer the phones.

Our parking lot hadn't been plowed yet when I was ready to leave for work. I got the car stuck a couple of times and I had barely gotten out of the paking space. I put the car back in the parking space and took a vacation day.

I have a class at Drexel in Philly tonight. The driving and parking are pretty bad on a good night, never mind having over a foot of snow on the ground with nowhere to put it. Looks like I might stay home tonight too.

I had Monday off, and didn't go anywhere, but checked my car during the day, the snow was up to the rear bumper. I figured they would plow by the time I had to leave for work. Yeah... Right...

Walked 1 mile to the train station (instead of my usual bus stop about 12 miles away), and got in at 10:30. Only 1/2 the people are here anyway, but I get my uplift!

Now they better plow that damn lot today!!!

i'm at work and it sucks. i live a good hour from work and i got my ass here today. i shoveled the feet and feet of snow to get my car out of my driveway. not to mention the 6 ft pile left by the plows at the end of my driveway. i'm pissed at the people who didn't show up. i work in a call center and Tax time is not a good time for a bunch of people to call in. We are getting pounded with calls, especially from those people who didn't go to work today and decide what better day to complain about mutual fund performance than today. Most of the people who called in live in apartments 5-10 minutes away. thanks for letting me get my anger out. can't wait to get out of here so i can smoke a nice fat joint

I have actually been home from work since Thursday. Every few months I go out sick for a week. That's the fun thing about working for the city. I'm at the point now where I have no more sick days left and do not get paid for being home. But hell, I'm rich anyway.
