When were you aware that Ron and Fez were really off the Air in NY?

Aside from the constant speculation around the future of the show following O and A's departure, their departure didn't sink in until about 7:05 pm on that fateful Monday. I was looking forward to hearing the boys Superbowl celebration, I got in the car to go to work in the morning, and started to hear top 40 music, I knew something was rotten in Denmark. I checked the message board and learned of all the speculation, but I hoped the boys would be around. Then 7:00 pm rolls around and I turn on the radio expecting to hear the boys and instead I hear "Wild Horses" by the Stones. Figuring this to be the boys, I waited for the song to end only to find out that someone had changed the station to 104.3. I quickly changed to 102.7 and heard the top forty again and then I knew for sure. All the best to the boys in D.C. and I hope to hear them back in the NY area in the near future.

I first read about it in NEWSDAY. They reported it a week before it happened and it just went in one ear and out the other. once 1-27-03 came around, I put it on and said "holy shit..."

Awoken on 1.27.03 by "New station, coming soon, stay tuned" at 5:37 am.

I am seriously not lieing. I had the radio on overnight and I woke up at 5:37am, rather then 10am when I heard "stay tuned"... in my sleep. I thought that Neer was starting off the show with some Agularia "Beautiful" until I never heard his voice again on that memberable morning.

Same thing happened to me. I was skimming passed my station set and when I heard music in the morning, I did a double take. Of course, I was in denial until 7pm and that damn music was still on. I cursed 'NEW right then. "Damn you Sykes!"

I tuned in at 10am the morning of 1/27th to catch the replay of Friday's show. My heart sank when I heard music. I called the station to ask what was going on and if R&F would be on that evening at 7pm. WNEW's crack(ed) staff said they didn't know. They said the station was going through "changes" and they didn't know what the programing would be.
I knew right away the show was off in New York and I wouldn't be hearing the guys that night. I'm too much of a pessimist/realist.
