OK, I don't want to hear about Elmo or Zoe - I'm talking about the "real" old-school Muppets. The ones that used to torment Mr. Hooper in his store and pal around with the first, blacker "Gordon".

My two favorites (in no particular order) were:
1. Roosevelt Franklin (with the coolest theme song about his Elementary school)
2. Game Show Host...GUY SMILEY!!!!

I always dug Rowlf, as he was always laid back and cool, always Looked good in a Tux, plus he played a mean piano from time to time.

I also liked the "Mah-Nam-in-NAH ( doot doot de doot doo)" Guy, but i dont know his name.

Statler and Waldorf ( the Balcony Guys) were ahead of their time, as they are archtypes for every internet critic i have ever seen.

As for Sesame St. guys, Grover will always have a place in my heart.

From Sesame Street: Ernie, Grover and Oscar. (I loved Oscar's pet worm Slimey.)

From the Muppets: Gonzo and Miss Piggy. She's a feisty one.

And if you want to take it to the 80s... on the Muppet Babies, it had to be Baby Gonzo, Robin (Kermit's nephew), and Beeker.

2.the guy with the boomerang fishes,

Lou Zealand!

The muppet show was such a great show, I can't single anyone out, but I liked the Electric Mayhem and the Sweedish chef bits, the quick muppet news flashes, muppet hospital with the bad puns, Crazy Harry and his pythonesqe "just blow up the sketch" Gonzo's questionable relationship with a chicken... etc, etc...

Beaker was clearly the funniest muppet ever, with Gonzo a close second.

The only thing I do know, is that I don't know....
