In addition to BigAl's summary a few more details: About 200 (my estimate)people showed up. Everybody was hanging out upstairs. All of the crew that I talked to said they didn't realize they were getting taken off NEW until it happened. R&F will be working out of DC Tues. -Thurs. & commuting back to NY on the weekends for the forseeable future. Both Ron & Fez were very gracious, posing for pictures, etc. Fez seemed a little more 'on', talking to friends, relatives on people's cell phones, showing off his Bucs tat, etc. I met several cool people but not a lot of regulars from the board. (Horde King being the exeception.) I guess it pays to click on the links here so I could have known what everybody looks like. There were at least two guys with professional looking camera set ups so I would think there will be lots of pics in the near future.

I posted a long ass update which just got deleted, but I'll retype if the details aren't replicated elsewhere. A quick rundown:

-Ron and Fez were brilliant as always. Remarkably acessible, trying to share an invidual moment or conversation with all who approached, even if it were the same questions everytime. Great gentlemen, who also seem one part suprised, one part touched by the massive reactions and emotions they generate.

-I'd put the Ron and Fez estimate at closer to 400-500. I thought the line I was in was 300 people long outside. And the Hard Rock was jammed, as Ron and Fez took over the top floor.

-Notables in attendance: Billy(in Orange shirt), Rory, Hawk, Wonderboy, Mikey D and Helen, Harry Elvis(who was total arrogant dick, seriously)Sweet Melissa, Stalker Patty, Black Earl, Jim Norton(that's the more notable people I ran across)

-conspicous by their absence: Al Dukes(unless I missed him), Opie and Anthony(I thought one of them should have shown support here to Ron and Fez, considering it was their bonehead broadcast that made this entire night and situation necessary. Opie was reported to be in Florida, while Anthony was in parts unknown. Norton was nice, but one of them belonged there

-No ID's were checked at any point by any staff, based on what I saw. Definite underage folk upstairs(and it's a restaurant, so why not?) Tough break underagers.

-IT was a great night overall, lots of photos taken, so we should have some real good shots coming up in coming days. Thanks to Ron, Fez, Eddie Trunk and Hard Rock JOHNNN-NAY on a great night. I'll try to get more detailed later, but I don't have the heart to retype my opus.

ONE MORE THING....Ron and Fez looked to be in great shape, I'd say both have dropped in the neighborhood of 50 pounds the BANOF 2. I just wanted to see if anyone agreed?

Been to all of the events and this was by far the best. Too much to recap but I did enjoy the 5 or more people that BUSTED their ass in front of my table!

I had a blast, everyone was great!

I missed Ron and Fez, but after seeing them and hanging out with the gang i miss them even more.

I had a really good time meeting new people and chillin with the usuals.

I wish we can do this every weekend.

Ron and Fezzy Low, I love you guys, come back again SOON but in the meantime rock DC's ASS!!!

I was with 2 people who I know got a pic of Fez's tattoo(right below his Riddler tat). I didn't expect O&A to be there because there were alot of people there who blame them for this, plus they knew that it wasn't about them tonight. It was crowded so I didn't get to see and meet everyone, but the ones I got to say hi to were: Ron, Fez, Rory, Mikey D, Billy, Earl, Eddie Trunk, Wonderboy, Sweet Melissa, Too cute, Helen, Norton, the retarded Laverne & Shirley, Horde King,& Hawk. Everyone was really cool as far as small talk, taking pictures, etc. I think that speaks very highly about what kind of people they are, considering they were like this with everyone they met. It was a very bittersweet experience. That's the most I can recall right now(late night, lotta drinks, you know how it is), but I wanna say thank you to everyone who was there for making the night such a good time, and hopefully we'll all be able to do it again soon!

Anyone remember the scene where Karen was just married to Henry Hill and she was getting said hi to all over the place. THAT"S how I felt tonight! So KOOOL!I am just so overelmed at the outpouring of love and support at one of the R & F events. I said hi to Jimmy D first and then noticed Jersey Rich and said hi to him and that kind of opened toe door for me to feel a bit more comfortable. Also met PanterA which was koool as well. I regret not having more time to talk with PanterA or Jersey Rich more but that will come in time. Then I got talking with Gwen who was helpful in pointing everyone out to me and then we talked shit and that ruled. EffMeBoobs, Anna, Doogie and Tazz were amazingly nice to talk to as well. Our nice little huddle outside the doors got me really comfortable with the whole night and I can't thank you guys enough for kind of breaking that ground to me. It was nice to feel accepted.After getting inside, it was a thrill to meet Fuzzybutt, Skidmark, Christy, Hosp, Blakjeezis, HordeKing, Dreamweaver and GVAC who just made things all the more comfortable for me. I really send a heartfelt thanks to all who didn't feel like slapping me after I introduced myself.I hope to get out to more events and maybe even strike up some friendships with those I net tonight and will meet in the future. If I forgot anyone I am so incredibly sorry but I really had fun even though I just stood around most of the night. The shyness does wear off. HEH!Hopefully this will open the doors for me creating some new characters based on some of you if that is koool. It adds so much reading posts and having a name to place with the post now.

i had a pretty emotional goodbye to ronny. i wanna give a big fuck you to whoever told the waitress to JOIN THE FUCKING CHECKS!!!!! it was cool to meet a few new people, be shy around most of them and ignore the rest hehe. of course i loved seeing all the regs.

it was quite crowded upstairs, i didnt like it too much. ron and fez mostly stayed in one spot talking to as many people as they could. they walked around evry little, and i dont blame them...theyd have a posse bigger than Puffy's following them everywhere. no they didnt card, which really sucks for the underagers who didnt show up because of that.

i got to bond with hawk until jersey rich came in and totally c-blocked.

i learned something tonight...you dont know how important someone is to you until you have to say goodbye.

I gotta say that this was one of the most fun nights i've had in a long time ( and totally worth the loss of all sensation in my legs due to frostbite while waiting in line).

I feel sorry for not coming out earlier to the shows and meeting you all, as everyone i met from the board was totally friendly, and just cool to hang with. I'll admit, being a occasional poster here, and seeing how close knit you all are, i had my reservations that i would feel kind of like an outsider intruding on someone elses territory, but i was truly amazed by how cool everyone was ( and now feel like a giant tool for not hanging out with y'all sooner)There was nothing but alot of smiles and love for our "Buddies"

Ronnie is THE MAN!

I basically stayed to one area upstairs (as i'm a large mammal and didnt want to accidently injure anyone by knocking them over) and Ronnie hung in that general area for most of the night. What a total down to earth,accessable, Nice guy. Him and the lovely "Mrs. Ron" were really great, and i'll always remember the "Come On Eileen" sing along we had.

Got to meet Fezzy towards the end of the night, and again, couldnt ask for nicer folk, saw the Tat ( everyone did), and again, i couldn't believe how cool the boys were.

Mikey D and i got to BS for a bit, and he was totally cool as well, as was everyone i was introduced to like Melissa ( yes you are indeed very sweet),Hard Rock Johnny, GVAC, Billy, and Norton, among others. Even though for the most part those were just handshakes and "Hi's", you all were great to meet.

And Frenchy, Thanks for the Thong display for Ronnie.

You know, for a show that supposedly didn't "have the ratings" to keep WNEW afloat, i saw 400 or so people come out in the freezing cold for a show that isn't even on the air here ( hopefully that's just for now).

Thats gotta be worth something, and shows how important "the buddies" are to all of us.

Hopefully Ronnie's "Frosty the Snowman"-like promise of "I'll be back before you know it" will indeed be true.

Until then, there is nothing on the radio worth hearing...

Thanks to all again for one of the best times i've had in a long time, I feel like i made some new friends, an know in my heart that we'll all meet again.

Last night only reinforced what I've known for quite some time; Ron and Fez are not only the funniest and most unique radio show hosts ever, they're also two genuinely super guys who I'm proud to call my friends.

The entire crew of the show (Rory, Billy, Hawk, Wonderboy, Harry Elvis, and Mikey D) are all top notch guys too, and will also be missed a whole lot.

I sincerely hope all of you D.C. people realize what a riot it is to be around these guys and that you take full advantage of the friendly nature of the show. There are no egos or attitudes, just a couple of really funny guys who happen to be on the radio, and who really love meeting and being around their fans.

I'll miss them incredibly.

As far as my fellow message board members, it was great to see all of the old faces as well as quite a few new ones, too. I know if I attempted to list the names I'd invariably omit a name or two and I'd feel awful. Let it suffice to say I had a great time with each and every one of you and hopefully we can do it again real soon.

Yo!

Its 2AM: just got back to the NJ shore.

Got to Hard Rock right at 9:30pm. Line was there but not too big. Cold as hell outside.

The place wasn:t set up for any event. In fact there were diners eating where the stage/floor section was. Looked a little weird: the Hard Rock as usual: not st up for a big event.

Saw Hard Rock Johnny on the way in: You Rock Johnny!

Got it and everyone was going upstairs. Like i said the floor was tables of people dining.

Pass Max Weinberg of the E-street band on the way in.

Was there about 20 mins when we hear the crowd downstairs: R+F + crew are in the building. Theres black Earl, Billy, Mikey D, and R+F: Ron in his usual trench-coat: and fez loving life in his Bucs jersey. There's Eddie Trunk over there.

So I'm upstairs and soon people start making the circuit upstairs: its sort of a big circle. I saw Billy first [yes he had on the orange shirt] he says hi: he looks good. In fact, the whole crew looke really good: relaxed, ready for a good time.

Ron and Fez are SUPER accesible: everyone's taking pics and R+F are signing Big A.S.S. cards. Fez is showing off his tattoo: hmmm... looks pretty good for a brand new tat....

I see Helen and French Bread. Here comes ron and you gotta love how he remembers everyone's name. Like mine, at least. He says hi and thanks for coming and we take a few pics [i'll send them to whoever, just let me know]. Ron with me next to him "Mike, could you be a little taller, I'm not completely out of the frame yet..." or something like that. One cool guy.

A door opens to a room a while later: and R+F+crew go in: looks VIP but it's not, anyone who felt like coming in was welcome. I get next to fez, he looks at me and says, "Mike, how the hell did you sneak in without me seeing you?!" [I'm 6 foot 5].

Anyway, there Eddie Trunk: and either Laverne or Shirley or both from the retarded L+S team: there's Stalker Patty [shocker!]: and I see a few others: like Green lantern and Shark.

I'm starving and its midnite so we go to leave and theres...Jimmy Norton! I say hi and as usual he looks too shocked to smile.

Anyway: it was great seeing you all: a different vibe entirely: as this was literally a non-event, just people hanging out with each other at the Hard rock.

Ouch.

I am in incredible pain right now, but it was worth it to see ron and fez off.

It was great seeing the regular cast of characters, but it was really nice to have a chance to hang out with those who never come out. Fuzzybutt and Horde King, it was a delight to talk to you both and H4T I'll be staying off of my feet for a while.

I think Fluffernutter was the only new person I met and he's a hell of a guy.

Last night was the last time I'll be hanging out until I get my life in order so it was great seeing you all and the next time you see me it will be better days.

Hey. This is my first time posting on the message board, but I've been listening to Ron and Fez for a while now... finally made it out to an event and had one of the best times I had in a while. 
It's so strange to finally see the people of the show in person; you feel like you know them already from listening to them almost every night. It was great for me to see that Ron and Fez were just as cool as I thought they would be. Perfect gentlemen, didn't see them complain once - Seeing how great they are in person makes me miss their radio show even more. 
Like I said, it was my first RnF event - and I felt kinda starstruck in the beginning, but after getting past that and seeing how approachable everyone was, it breaks my heart to think that they're not part of my daily routine anymore. 
Highlights for me - getting to meet and take polaroids with Mikey D, the super-sexy French Bread Pizza, Jim Norton (he made fun of my polaroid camera), Eddie Trunk and getting a kiss on the cheek from Sweet Melissa. 
I was smiling all the way home... and Fez did promise to everyone at the party that they would try their hardest to get back on in NY. 
I'm gonna try to get my polaroids scanned in for you guys to see... see ya

TAKE YOUR MEDICATION..the zaps will fucking freak you out

I never heard it referred to as that...but that's a great term for SSRI discontinuation syndrome, it's very prominent and uncomfortable with Paxil. If you go a few days without it, taking a Prozac if you can get it will relieve the "zaps" quicker than a Paxil...then go back to Paxil.

Better yet, perhaps ask your doctor to switch you to Celexa or Lexapro. Celexa/Wellbutrin works real well and has far less "zap" potential.

Now if they could only create a SSRI for men that didn't impair the guy's ability to come....that's the magic bullet.

Hi all, It's been said in this thread before, but I just wanted to say hello and thank you to everybody I finally had the chance to meet last night. I was surprised at how cool everybody was. Special mention goes to fluff, gwen, effme, and gvac, but there were others as well. And of course, to the main men themselves, Ron and Fez, I say thank you and come back home soon. I wish I got to meet more of you, but there's always next time (and there WILL be a next time!). I am glad I finally came out to an event. What a great bunch of people.

It was wonderful seeing old friends and meeting new.

Of course, an occasion like this is partially meloncholic. I think that many people experienced it to one degree or another.

Ron and Fez were the consumate hosts; gentlemen; graciousness personified; accessible; friendly; approachable; and still moved by the loyalty and appreciation of the NY fans.

These are not just great radio talk show hosts, but great people. Lets redouble our effort to get Ron and Fez back in NY where they belong.

Well, like the mighty Odysseus, I have braved the Scylla and Charybdis of the MTA, escaped from Circe's Isle, and at last returned home give my version of last night's events.

Off the bat, it was obviously a bittersweet affair. It was great, as always, to see all the friends that I've made over the past couple of years, some new ones just met last night, and of course Ron, Fez and the whole crew. What can you say about them? They've handled the whole situation with grace and class typified by their actions last night. It was really an honor and a pleasure just to thank them all for supplying us with the fun, laughs, and entertainment we've been lucky enough to listen in on, and take part in these past few years. Hopefully, Infinity will get their heads out of their collective ass and we'll be able to once again have the boys back where they belong.

Edit: Rory and BlackJeezis were both double fisting hardcore.
. . . each other! Which, believe me, was as big a surprise to me as it was to anyone.

Anywho, I had a wonderful time at the Hard Rock...Ron, Fez, Billy, Eddie, and Rorry, you are all very kind and Ronnie and Fezzy, you'll be missed greatly...

Despite the reasons for the gathering, it was a wonderful time meeting so many new people and seeing a lot of the "old-timers".

Ron, Fez and Eddie were true gentlemen and great people. They all were real and honest and a pleasure to have met. Though this is only a temporary separation, a continuation of efforts may have a surprising effect soon.

Just wanted to say I had a great time Saturday...I'm finally coming off an entire weekend long blur, but it was real cool hangin' out with some of you guys and meetin' people I've sorta lurked around here on the board reading and stuff for the past 20 or so months.

Snoogins/Warren- Had a blast brother...I knew I'd find my car eventually. I still can't belive I got my hand covered in BBQ and Honey Mustard trying to get your nugget out of the trash. I gotta gets to Mahwah dude, it seems to all happen in Mahwah.

Rev/Creepy- Thanks for the Corona Rev, very cool hangin' with ya. Still can't belive that one bar ran out. Jeez. Hopefully I'll run into you guys in the future at something.

Winnie Cooper- Great seein' you again...you're bag will always been safe at bar 9 if I'm around.

Frenchie- Snoogins totally is Warren. I know Mt. Holly and you know Tinton Falls...so it's all good. You rock and it was a blast meeting you. I gotta check in with you about stuff sometime this week. Maybe one of these days I can be one of the creepy single dudes who comes into your restaraunt and stares at you.

Lisa Croft- No, you'll never live down the frighty fright line nor the Planet Java drinking night...But you were super cool and I feel bad now for thinking you were a bitch on the air a few times :)

Inky- I hate sound like a broken record, but it was awesome to meet you and I really enjoyed hangin out talkin with you, rev, and creepy. Thanks for the flash, you rock.

2 days later, and i'm still coming down from what a good time i had.

I'm bummin that never took the oppurtunity to come out to prior events and hang with everyone i met saturday, but that will hopefully be remedied when Ronnie and Fez make their triumphant return to NY someday. Everyone was really great and i thank you all.

My first post on the RFnet message board (whoop whoop) and my first R&F event. It was really cool at the Hard Rock. I went by myself and didnt know anyone but had to take an opportunity to meet our buddies. I had another party to attend on Saturday, so I really just stayed long enough to shake hands with Ron, Fez & Mr. Staples. I also had the fortunate opportunity to catch a glimpse of French Bread Pizza's undergarments as she displayed them proudly for Ronnie. I also saw Wonderboy, Mikey D & Black Earl... didnt recognize some of the others since I didnt know what they looked like. Just sorry I wasnt there long enough to meet some of you all.. everyone seemed really genuine and cool... but I was alone and my introverted personality got in the way. Ron, Fez and everyone associated with the show are a class act.. so genuine and personable. So glad I had a chance to be there. See-yuh! -Joe

I've met so many interesting folks through this board/show in the past 3 months since Night of Frights, that I keep wanting to hang out and talk and blabber and find out if the minds (and mindlessness) of your posts is as much fun in person.

To those of you who I can't manage to recognize without my brother (like Silera, TooCute & Chairman_Kaga, among others), I am sorry for not saying "hi" or introducing myself. It makes me look like such a scumbag and I feel rotten about it.

To my girls - Missy, Anna, Gwen & Lisa - the pregame was a fantastic idea, babes. But it's also incredibly cool being able to chill with you, because I never have to move. All the cool kids come over and say "hi" to you first! :)

Individuals who merit specific attention:

HordeKing - I regret not being able to chat with you in person. You probably saw me (you couldn't miss the goddamn soft-cast) at the same table, but Matt pulled me outta there when Jon got sick. :( If our paths cross again, as I'm sure they will, I know what you look like now, so I'll be sure to introduce myself officially.

I miss them more this week because I'm still on disability from work, and with no midday replay, I have missed my first post-operative Fezzatorial. :( I also missed seeing Fez's Bucs tattoo in person, which kinda steamed me, but, the last time I saw poor Fezzy, I gave him a hug, so I think my boyfriend was playing it safe. *pout*

Oh well, such is life. Hopefully, there will be more events in the future and I'll be able to meet & greet more of you.

Thrilled and amazed that i flew in under the radar....tee heee, i showed up mad late, and there were so many people that i did not see, but would have liked to....but heres my rundown as follows......

Ronny- An amazing individual, I feel so lucky to have such a warm person in my life now....I enjoy our talks, and your eyes tell SO much my sweet pea....

Fezzy-Ill say the tattoo looked a lot better than i thought it would, you looked great my lovey, such a smile. But i cant take it if ya get teary!!!!

Rory- Im sorry you were feeling ill, but how sweet it is to see your face light up when frenchie walks into the room....im so happy to know you.

grant....i got that zaps word from paxilwithdrawl.org that's where i first learned what the shit that was making me crazy was..and obviously you know the feeling, and zaps is like the perfect fucking word to described it. and i would go on prozac, or wellbutrin, or celexa..but i no longer have insurance sooooo i'm pretty much shit out of luck, paxil is what i have a supply for, and that's what i'm sticking too..

Hey I just wanted to thank everybody for comming down and helping us have a good time. My offical count was 323 people give or take a few. It was great to see my old friends and meet some new ones. I hope we can do a welcome back party sometime soon for the boys. PEACE

Dear Everybody, This Saturday's get-together was so bittersweet. As always it was great seeing everyone and even though I met more of you than ever before, I still missed some of you.

Wonderboy, it was fun meeting you, hope it wasn't the last time. Rory, loved your tat. Billy, how hard did you have to look to find an orange sweater? Mikey D, you're a terrific guy. Ron's Chick, it is such a shame to finally meet you under these circumstances. You seem like a really terrific lady. Like I said to you Saturday, you got one of the good ones there. 
Ron and Fez were accessible as always. The good thing was that I didn't have to shriek in their ears in order to be heard over the noise. It made real conversation possible. I could feel Ron's emotions bubbling just under the surface as he spoke of having to be in DC. He was so sensitive and loving as I apologized for getting mushy on him. In talking to Fez, I came closest to losing it. At the end of the evening, he was telling me that in Pinellas Park, Florida he was raised to hate NY and New Yorkers. He said that he had been prepared not to like it. Instead, he was not just accepted by New York, he has never been this happy anywhere else. He said this was his home and we were his friends and he didn't want to leave us. I hugged him just to stop him before we both started crying as his eyes were filling up. We are so lucky to have these two gentlemen in our lives.

PS: If anyone found a disposable camera, take a picture of your junk and return it to me.
