As someone has already pointed out, Batman has taken down Superman.

Not just in the Dark Knight storyline either.

Batman's kicked a LOT of ass. He rarely ever goes into a fight without knowing an enemy's weaknesses, but even so, his keen mind would pick them out within minutes.

I'm surprised so many would pick Spider-Man. Other than enhanced strength (no problem for Bats, since he's taken down guys like Bane), and possibly the webs (which Bats would likely have a counter to), Spidey is nothing special compared to the Batman. Bruce is a MUCH better fighter; Spidey's pretty much just an acrobatic brawler.

My prediction: the two have a fun, entertaining battle for a few moments. Batman gives the appearance that he's on the ropes, and Spidey pauses to make a wisecrack, at which point Batman quickly hands his ass to him.

not only is is spidey's agility enhanced, but his whole nervous system was altered. His synapses fire at approx. 10 times the normal human rate giving him a appearance of esp (spider sense) what this also means is he reacts 10 times faster than any human possibly could. I don't care how good batman's reflexs are, He simply can not match with a man who is his equal in brains (don't even bother to argue this, parker is up there with reed richards and tony stark) and has those physical attributes.

Ok, first of all the idea that Spiderman gets a sidekick is absurd. Batman actually has a sidekick, he's not some BS made up person. Robin is more then capable of helping Batman out....maybe kick something to him thats just out of his reach. Robin is the X factor that should not be underestimated on the battlefield.

Batman has taken down Superman in Dark Knight Returns. In a recent JLA storyline, his "failsafes" to take down the whole JLA (Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Lantern)were utilized by his enemy and all the heavy hitters were taken down. Not bad for a guy with no "superpowers".

BTW: during the marvel dc crossovers, they had spiderman fight Superboy. this was because both sides agreed that this was the level that spidey was on, not batman's.

But by that own rational...wouldn't the "smart" hulk be able to take out spiderman? Since he's just as smart but he's stronger?

I will admit Spiderman is smart and has heart. He was always interested in science. I will admit that physically Spiderman is stronger. But, I think Batman's smarts go just beyond science and it's his quick thinking and knowing weaknesses that allows him to beat his opponents.
