I mean seriously, there shouldn't be a special day set aside for Valentine's. It is such bullshit the more I think about it. Is the only day of the year to give a rose or box of candy to someone you love? Hell no. That kind of thing is EXPECTED on Valentine's and comes across as such the uncaring NECESSARY thing to do because it is V-Day. For those who do get the V-Day bug, how often through out the year does your signifigant other give you flowers or that box of candy? Maybe I am completly wrong but it just seems like a crock of shit. I have had a girlfriend or two on V-Day before and it sure don't make it any more special. It is just another day you cherish the companionship of someone else. I also feel the same about birthdays too, so there.

I get where you're all coming from in terms of showing appreciation more than just on the 14th, but there are a lot of people who dont. This day tries to get at least one day of the year where there is a little more pressure to do the things you dont normally do, and if you do show affection, its an excuse to show a little more or do something special. Not that you need an excuse, but most people dont act without one. So I guess I'll join the pro v-day thread when it appears. Maybe even attend a self-pity party and join fellow loners who'd rather not be alone as we drink ourselves into oblivion and pretend its our choice to be without significant others for v-day. Sounds like a blast!
