I noticed this link on the NYRMB.

Looks like K-Rock is looking for on-air personalities with "something to say". Eddie Trunk mentioned that he's had productive meetings and could know about a new position as early as this week. Could Ron & Fez have a new home before you know it?
Either way, it's quite obvious K-Rock is planning on rebuilding their line-up.

R&F beat them in the ratings for that timeslot....Would only make sense to put them on AND it's a good place for Trunk to do his overnight gig. Now only if that prick doesnt do something to stop it from happening.....

The only fly in the ointment is their contract. Once their present contract expires, I can't imagine them resigning with Infinity. Then we can speculate.

Sorry to disappoint, but this exact ad ran about a year ago. From what I understand infinity has a policy that certain jobs must be posted in the classified ads. When the relaity is that the job is usually not filled by some "applicant", but instead they actually seek out their on air talent. But hey what the fuck.. Maybe the heckler should apply... or we could have the Billy Staples AA hour

If Eddie doesn't mind playing Hip-Hop, then consider the job his.

UPD is correct. By LAW, XRK has to put up an ad. Think about it...It's market #1, Sterns flagship station....they aren't going to even listen to tapes from young rooks or small market chumps. We can hope that Infinity is considering R&F for 7-11, but this ad shouldn't change anything.

I dont think chickenhawk was saying the boys should apply for the job. He was speculating that Infinity might indeed put Ron and Fez in that time slot, since it's open. And I hope he's right! Although I also agree with our lady in Samoa that R and F re-signing with Infinity is doubtful. So..we'll see.

Yeah, I know this. I wasn't implying that Ron & Fez should go fill out a job application. They're already working for Infinity. These job classifieds are put out BY LAW. They're not actually looking to take some random applicant. They just HAVE to put out job ads by policy.

ChrisTheCop's got it right. I was inferring that, since K-Rock is putting out their classified, it could mean that they plan to sign new on-air talent. It's pretty clear that a station like K-Rock already has specific names in mind (let's hope Ron & Fez and/or Eddie are on that list.)
Also, I don't get why people are saying it's doubtful that R&F will re-sign with Infinity. It's actually quite the opposite. Infinity has relocated them to WJFK in DC in a fairly secure spot (nothing's ever truly "secure" in radio). Obviously Infinity wanted their product in DC, and as long as they pull in the desired ratings, there's no reason Ron & Fez wouldn't stay with Infinity.

I guess it would depend what Infinity is going to offer them and what other offers they have.
If (God forbid) Infinity is the only offer, you can bet they'll take it. But, I guess we will all see.

I heard Stern say early this morning that he was going to talk about some things going on at the station. He went to a break and never really got back to the station stuff. Although he did talk about what a Napoleonic prick Kingston is, it had more to do with a dinner for a common friend than the station. I think they told him to not talk about the behind the scenes station stuff just yet. Stern can be a douche, but he won't risk pissing off Mel. Mel has put too much money in his pocket.
I didn't see anything, I didn't hear anything, I wasn't there and if I was there I was asleep.

a)Just wanted to start of with saying, as we all know: Infinity Blows!
b)We'll have to wait before Ron and Fez get big in DC before we can hope to have them back here
c) Eddie Trunk wont sign with KRock cuz he doesnt really enjoy playing the same shit over and over, and they wouldnt let him play hi stuff
d) hey at least we still got Letterman

Accually, K-Rock might be looking for someone to bring some heavier and older music to the station.
Dont be ignorant.

I should have clarified; If I were Ron or Fez, and I had a chance to work for another company, I wouldnt re-sign with Infinity, since they blow. Obviously, theyll go with whoever they get the best deal from, but right now it seems ANY company is better than Infinity..cuz..have i said this yet: they blow. So, I'm not saying Infinity wouldnt keep them, I'm saying they might not keep Infinity.

The K Rock classified ad was actually asking for an on air personality which appealed to the 20-30 year old range. I'm no Mel Karmazin ,but just from listening to the show I think Ron n Fez hit that age group dead on.
