On Sunday, the AFL will kick off it's 17th season in Dallas when the New York Dragons play Jerry Jones's Dallas Desperados. If you get the opportunity on Sunday, give it a chance. It will be on NBC at 3PM. Who else will be going to Dragons games this season?

I hope this does better on nbc than the xfl. Well at least the media won't bash it just because Vince McMahon's name was on it.

I don't know about going but I may watch some games. It sounds hella fun. Is there a NJ team as well as a NY team? I could have sworn there was one in Trenton.

I watched a few games of the Dragons. I watched the game where they scored 99 points. I think they actually scored over a 100 but the old scoreboard at the coliseium didn't count that high.
Garcia being back is going to help.

I've also watched the Playoff games that ESPN would put on.

The New Jersey team had problems with the arena, fan support, location, and ownership. They played at the Continental Airlines Arena, but moved to Las Vegas during this off-season. According to officials from the team, the Vegas team has sold 9,000 season tickets already. There was also a team from the Indoor Professional Football League (MUCH smaller than the AFL) called the Trenton Lightning, but I don't think they are around anymore.
Ah yes, the classic 99-67 win against Carolina in 2001. It was only 99 points. New York could have gone for 2 on their last TD to make it 100, but coach Gregory wanted to win with class. They set the record for most points in a single game and most points by a single team in that game.
Johnee, AFL tickets are very inexpensive. Look at this:
<IMG SRC="http://www.newyorkdragons.com/tickets/images/stp0203.jpg" ALT="wwfallon" HEIGHT=400 WIDTH=450>
Anything in Red is $65
Anything in Orange is $30
Anything in Yellow is $25
Anything in Blue is $12
Concessions are also much cheaper than say, Madison Square Garden. The Dragons also have very good giveaways this season. At the home-opener they are giving away long-sleeve shirts.

Nice comback they made, after they were down by 10, i thought it was over. Anyway to get good seats at this will run $30 a pop...that $90=parking and grub. I'm thinking $125 minimum. For Arena football?

I just caught a few minutes of the New York vs Dallas game. I must say it was pretty enteraining. I never thought football indoors with no out of bounds lines would work. I was pleasently surprised.

This will never be big. I LOVE football but this short field is just too damn small. If you have a lead at halftime and get the ball to start the second half, you cant lose. The XFL should have had fewer players so it would have more scoring and allow 1 step after the ball is thrown to hit the QB.

Judging from your posts you have seen a number of games and I will assume that you enjoyed them. Compared to all other major sports, $125 for the night is a godsend. Is $125 for the night worth it? That's up to you.

I didn't have the opportunity to see most of the game, but I did listen to it while I was driving. I am not particularly fond of Sid Rosenburg, one of the Dragons' radio broadcasters, but he did a great job today.

Georgia rallies to beat Colorado
Crush lets 27-17 halftime slip away in its inaugural game
ASSOCIATED PRESS
DENVER, Feb. 2 - Donnie Davis passed for three touchdowns and ran for another as the Georgia Force defeated the Colorado Crush 44-40 on Sunday in the Arena Football League opener for both teams.
The above is a game from yesterday in which Colorado, which had a 10 point lead at halftime, was defeated by Georgia.
Johnee, it is difficult for ANY team to come back from a half-time deficit no matter what sport you are playing.
