My wife's been busting my balls about playing my XBOX lately. She thinks its for kids. Screw that, I've been doing this for close to 20 years and I'll be damned if I'll stop now. These things are just starting to get good now.

Anyway, do you think there's an age when you should put down the controller for good?

NEVER! That's like saying you're
too old to exercise your mind
while still remaining entertained.
If you can't be too old to play
baseball, or watch TV, or read a
book, why aren't videogames
given the same respect? Only
because they haven't been
around long enough. Well you
know what I say? BULLSHIT!
Videogames are as much of a
passtime now as crossword
puzzles and gardening, so FUCK
YOU!

Never! Never!

I've been playing video games since PONG!

I still love video games and will probably die with a controller in my hand.

I love RPG games, having played and beaten all the Final Fantasy games on all systems.

Video games are life!

Everything posted here so far I second! Except I have no wife....I thinks I now know why! Fuck her then anyway, whoever she might or would have been. I need my acitvision classics like Kaboom and River Raid as much as I live for Final Fantasy Editions and the newest EA NHL Hockey! Viva Zaxon!

I sense a new board cult and it all started with Bamanation.

I've been playing since the Poing days too (oooh I miss my Atari 2600 and Commodore 64 days). I play the occasional game today (mostly fps type, and the occasional 2d shooter types)- they just dont suck up hours on end like the used to. Speaking of which, I saw in the store the other day an entire 2600 (with a dozen games) built in to a 2600 joystick. Too cool -brough back memories.http://www.beststuff.com/videogames.php3

As long as it is not interfering with anything important, I would say never.

I'm with Spoon on this one...other than having a wife, I totally agree with what has been posted here. The day I'm too old for video games, better take away the driving privileges too. And while you're at it...KILL ME! I'VE PEAKED, IT'S ALL DOWNHILL FROM THIS POINT!

No, age is not a limit with video games. That's like saying you're too old for a pacifier, diapers, breast-feeding, having someone feed you while they're pretending the spoon is an airplane, getting a-

Never got into Video games...
even when the Arcades got popular, I would rather have spent my money on pot, beer, and gas...
As an "old schooler" we spent alot of time in the parks playing football, basketball, and baseball...
There are alot of guys in thier 20's and 30's in work who can't get enough of these games and they ask me about them. I begin to tell them that my daughters(12 and 10) play alot, then there is a moment of slightly uncomfortable silence, and we move onto something else...

It's a hobby. If you're too old for hobbies and simple diversions then you're fucking dead already.

I've been playing since the original Adventure, Collossal Cave and Star Trek (using the good old "E" "K" and "R" letters to represent ships and * to represent stars)

Pong brought video games to the masses (or at least those who could convince their parents that it was a necessity).

My parents had no problem buying a Commode 64 or a Trash 80 and finally an Apple 2 (yay!) but they drew the line at Pong. I had to wait to play on my TV until Atari came out a few years later. By then, I was deeply immersed in Zork and the great Infocom text adventures.

Anyone play Planetfall? Remember Flloyd the Robot. The greatest video game character ever (even if he was in an all text game)!

Oregon Trail is as far back as I go. It was so sweet. They let us play during school. My people always died from cholera or something and my wagon always blew up in the damn river. But I could hunt those damn rabbits with the best of them!

Man those were the days. You always left a tombstone for the next kid that said "Here lies YOUR MOM" or something like that.
