How did you become a fan?

Since the topic of being diehard fans and bandwagon jumpers were mentioned a few times on Ron and Fez: how did you guys and gals become a fan of whatever team you choose to follow?

I'm a huge Metropolitans fan because my dad was and still is. Hell we live in Queens to top it off. 21+ years as a Met fan and still going strong.

I was raised a Celtics and Yankees fan by my Dad. He's a NY Football Giants fan but I was into Dallas more back then. I'm still a Celts fan but I have no favorite football team.

However, I became a Red Sox fan around 1975/76 because of the great Sox-Reds World Series but mostly because of Jim Rice. I started to play Little League around that time and Jim Rice was the player I wanted to be like. I had his glove, used his stance, and wore #14.

I've been paying the price for my decision to switch from the Yankees to the Sox ever since. However, I'm sticking with the Sox no matter how stupid and pathetic their GMs are.
