YES! I said it! This new Women's Entertainment and the old Lifetime channels are some of the WORST stations on the air, right behind UPN. (giggle)

If you are unfortunate enough to catch a movie on these stations, it's all about how MEN are scum and women are trusting innocents who are wronged.

Now I HATE Leykis for only providing HIS one sided view of things, so I also HATE WE's and Lifetime's one sided view of things too.

Hate sells I guess.

I was actually thinking about this the other day when I read that TNN (the former "Nashville Network", now the "Nation's Network") was considering marketing themselves as a "men's" network, and programming things like wrestling, V.I.P. and showing westerns and such. Suddenly, there was an uproar that they'd be alienating women. Well, what about Lifetime and WE and that Ofrah channel "O" or "Oxygen" or whatever the fuck it's called. You don't hear men complaining that they're not included. You know why? Cuz we don't want to be. And what we really don't get is why you (meaning "women") feel the need to be included in everything? Why is it that we are able to recognize when something isn't for us and ignore it, yet women are almost drawn to the very things we try to exclude them from? And don't gimme that "equal rights" crap. This is common sense. "I don't belong." That's where it should end.

I'll give some women credit, cuz they started these networks, but there are still way too many out there that just don't get it. You can have your stations. WE. DON'T CARE. But please... PLEASE... leave us alone.

Uhh... Gringo, I think TNN (The NATIONAL Network) has successfully shed themself of the Nashville image. They've been a guy network for about 3 years now.

I understand, but they're planning on going beyond that.

Analysts Grunt About Men's Channel

TNN's announcement on Thursday that it intends to become cable television's first entertainment channel devoted exclusively to men has received generally negative reaction from analysts and ad buyers. Today's (Friday) Hollywood Reporter pointed out that Turner Broadcasting's TBS embarked on a similar strategy two years ago with the slogan, "It's a guy thing," but failed when it began to alienate major "female-friendly" advertisers. Kagan World Media analyst Derek Baine told the Los Angeles Times that the TNN initiative "doesn't sound too exciting." The channel is also likely to be scrutinized strongly by feminists. A feminist scholar at Florida International University, Marilyn Hoder-Salmon, told the Times: "Hopefully, the channel ... [will offer] something besides babes, cop shows and contact sports." However, among its planned offerings are a continuation of its WWE wrestling shows and a new program called Striperella, starring Pamela Anderson.

I am insulted by their insistence that they're "television for women".

I am a woman and NONE of the programs even remotely interest me. . . personally, I prefer watching the stuff on TNN - wrestling and Star Trek: The Next Generation reruns . . .

I don't know, I guess they feel the need to pander to the lowest common denominator - for example, I used to date a guy who called it "housewife TV" - and want them to feel "special".

Yes, ALL "Lifetime Original Movies" are EVIL. They are today's non-thinking woman's answer to the "After-School Special".

But, of course, that's just this woman's opinion.

Good point man. I agree. We got WE, LIFETIME, I forgot about O, and don't forget BET the most RACIST of all things on TV.

So MEN get 1 channel? Wow, we're horrible. Pretty soon they're just gonna round up every man's penis and burn them like Nazi's burned books.

Yes, because Lorraine Bracco's character is a "SURVIVOR."

Yes, ALL "Lifetime Original Movies" are EVIL. They are today's non-thinking woman's answer to the "After-School Special".

But on the bright side, they provide gainful employment for actresses like Patty Duke, Valerie Bertinelli and Nancy McKeon.

My ex-girlfriend always would make me sit and watch Lifetime and movies of the like. I remember watching City of Angels and how she got all mad when I stared laughing my ass of when Meg Ryan got hit by the truck. I mean, come ON it was predictable and funnyt o boot.

I wish I got the late night BET here because at 11 it switches over to E! That means I can't get the old school "No, my brother.." ads and can't see the new True Hollywood Stories that E! offers before 11. GRRR!
