courtesy of (who else) rolling stone... in my opinion, this is one of the better lists like this i've seen.

1 - beck, sea change
2 - wilco, yankee hotel foxtrot
3 - coldplay, a rush of blood to the head
4 - bright eyes, lifted or the story is in the soil, keep your ear to the ground
5 - missy elliott, under construction
6 - the streets, original pirate material
7 - eminem, the eminem show
8 - queens of the stone age, songs for the deaf
9 - spoon, kill the moonlight
10 - bruce springsteen, the rising

Hm. I ended up owning all of those except for Spoon's album. And I liked the last Bright Eyes album, but I think if he had merged the best stuff off of that with the good stuff off of the Desaparecidos side-project and THEN he would have had th album of the year.

And I liked "The Rising", but not not this much.

And yet again, The Streets kick ass. Easily my favorite album all year.

Everyone just kisses their ass over this yuppie cubicle soft-rock.

I guess I can understand not liking Wilco...but this is probly the most inaccurate description of them I've ever heard. I WISH I worked in an office that would allow something like Wilco...
