Funny Thing On Stern This Morning

I drove into work this morning, so I happened to listen to part of Stern, and I gotta give him props for pulling this off.

The three judges from American Idol were in studio, so Stern had a guy come in and try singing for them. He comes in and sings Hero from the movie Spiderman, and the judges rate him between awful and just ok. The singer is then revealed to be the lead singer of Saliva, who actually sang the song and sold 8 million copies of the song.

It was priceless to hear the three of them eat crow.

I hate Stern but that's pretty goddamn funny. I have never watched American Idol because it seems to reek of shitty used up white trash Tv. But that's just my opinion. Not to mention even the commercials make me want to vomit, but that's pretty funny.....what a bunch of dried up dick lickers!!!!

That's funny as hell, did they have him singing in a different room or are these three so inept that they didn't recognize him?

By the way, was it the lead singer of Saliva (who has sold a lot of albums, but isn't a great live singer), or Chad Kroeger of Nickelback, the guy who recorded the song for the Spider-man soundtrack?

OK, that part I didn't know. I knew it was Chad, and a member of another band I had heard of, I just didn't realize it was Saliva. Thanks for the heads-up.

What WBK said. They both sang on the song. He did his part from the chorus. And the guy wasn't a bad a capella singer.

I loved hearing them tell the guy he was too old (30) before he even sang a note.

i heard the way end of it today. Stern said the guy who sang was afraid Paula Abdul would recognize him because they had recently met and talked for a while. but they convinced him she is to wrapped up in herself and wouldn't. and they were right.
