Hey Id look up to an 55 yr old American Idol.
Sure, he may have to take breaks to use a breathing apparatis for his live shows, and his medication could produce nasty side effects, BUT ILL WATCH!

But then there would be a actual artist making actual music, WITH ACTUAL TALENT. We cant have that on T.V. or radio now can we, i mean just think of someone liking it.

Interesting lawsuit.
I love these test-cases. . . it's a true ACLU/ADL type suit.
Hope he wins . . . mainly because, in terms of pop music, I'm a geriatric myself. . . and I'm not even 25!!!!
Logan's Run anyone?

Yeah but do you want to really see him gettin' jiggy shaking that wrinkly tired old ass and sack on tv?

How about the Rolling Stones?
They're ALL over 50 and they STILL rock the house.
The point he's trying to make is that he ought to have been given a chance.
What is this? The '60's? Even Charlton Heston said it in Planet of the Apes "Never trust anyone over 30."
Who wants to bet the people who drafted the rules for American Idol are all over 30?

Id care for american idol if bands could try out.
Cause singing someone's 80's hit is nothing. Playing it with a band is harder.
Plus Rock Icons are also idols.
John Lennon, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain....

I don't know how much of a case he has, the rules clearly state you have to be between 16 & 24. But I hope he wins.

There's so much bad talent on that show, if there was only a way to get them off quicker. Maybe if they had a gong...

That's the whole point of the lawsuit.
He contests that the rules themselves are discriminatory to begin with because they are based on AGE rather than TALENT.
I'd go for the gong idea, though. . . then I'd have to listen to fewer scratchy, off-key audition segments on the commercials. :)
