Tattoo Ideas...

I asked my dad if he would take me to get a tattoo for my bday and he said yes depending on what it is and how big it is. I have had a couple of thoughts in mind since i was like 16 but i just wanted to see if any boardmembers have them and what they are of just to give me further direction.


My idea was my zodiac sign(pisces) inside a droplet of water(since pisces is a water sign) and i would get it on the back of my neck just in case for when i get old and wrinkly i can hide it with my hair

"these are my initials" and

My roommate in college
had everything from the
virgin mary to edward gorey
characters to a devil with a
crucifix and I always thought
they were all so silly
because she just got them
cause they were "cool", not
because they had any
particular meaning. why
would you permanently put
something on yourself that
has no meaning to you??

For me, I have a small
horse which I drew myself
that I and several of my best
friends from college got (we
were on the equestrian
team together, and the
horse is now the team logo)
and the star of the house of
feanor from Tolkien's
writings, which I have been
very into since I have been
very young, and invested a
lot of time in studying.

My opinioin is that you
should get something that
means something to you,
not something just because
you can. And the back of the
neck seems like a bad idea
because if you ever have a
job (and who knows, 10 or
20 years from now you
might be in such a job)
where such things matter,
you will always have to have
long hair and wear it down.
And that is annoying. Get it
somewhere that regular
clothing will cover! And I
highly suggest drawing it
yourself, or having
someone artistic draw what
you want for you. don't get
something that other
people might also have!

My favorite tattoo I have is a picture of my first dog. She was my very best friend. I think the one I regret are the 3 letters across my chest from when I was in a gang. I have a few others but nothing special.

I swear I'd laugh my ass off at a person that get the chinese or japanese characters that they think means "wicked man" or something along those lines, but the artist decided to write something else like "douchebag" or something else dirogatory without there knowledge of the actual meaning behind the characters

Sounds really cool. Do you have something drawn up yet? If not, I throw in a sketch or something. I designed boith of my tattoos, one of a sacred heart with a banner over it with the Sick Of It All dragon on it and three cards on fire above the heart with H2O on the cards. Very traditional looking. The other one I threw together in Photoshop with the ear of corn from the Bad Religion: Against The Grain cover with the missile shooting out of the ear of corn. Also have a hamster on my calf which was my first pet. I am looking into another one soon but not sure which. The only thing I can say is make sure you want something you will not look back and regret. Mine were pretty damn personal to me and came from the heart. That is so much mor eimportant than something to fall into a trend or fashion which does'nt seem to be your style anyway. Good luck in you search for ink!
