The same thing happened to me when I was running through Resident Evil on the Gamecube.

These fast paced action games REALLY start to flip me out.

Now I'm looking over my shoulder all the time! I think that an enemy is behind me about to attack me.

This is not a joke. After getting into the action of the game, I find that 2-3 hours can just fly by, and when I put the controller down, I'm flipped out. My vision still feels like it's moving like the game did a little, and I think I see things in the corner of my eye.

Anyone else insane?

I had the same problem. But I think most of it was because I'm a pussy when it comes to scary things and I thought it was a pretty scary game.

The moody atmosphere and music can get freaky in the middle of the night. Plus the whole game is sweaty palmed, heart pounding gameplay.

WATCH BEHIND OUT YOU MOE, ITS THE SPACE PIRATE!!!

That's what I'm talking about! Those pirates ain't no joke! ESPECIALY the elite ones!

You re-enter an area you cleared, and all of a sudden you're under fire from like 5 space pirates! And they're all different colors, so you have to kill them with different beams!

And don't get me started on those fucking Guns that hang from the ceiling. Pain in my ass.

I forgot about the moody ass music and strange lighting. It all lends to the feeling that there's freaky shit out there.

I go through the same thing with GTA. After a session, I go out and I drive like a madman. It's like it doesn't shut off, and you should see the old ladies' faces when I take my chainsaw to 'em.

Any first person type of game is crazy! I'm playing Metroid Prime and the freakiest is when I turn a corner and all I see is some mongollide monster pop up at me. That's what really freaks me out.

Wel;, not ANY 1st person game.

For some strange reason, DOOM on my GBA doesn't seem to have the same effect on me as the full system version on a TV screen.

But anyway, I'm gonna sign off, play the game, and have feverish nightmares about Space Pirates and Metroid attacking me.

the part in mgs 2 where the fake captain comes on and tells you to stop playing, that you've been playing too long is the most scared I've ever been in a video game. It was a paranoia fest until I heard that it happened to everyone.

The strange thing is, video games have two levels of scarieness just like movies.

1. Video games that have creatures pop out at you and make you jump as well as eventually lead you to paranoia. Im guessing by the way you have described Metriod Prime this would be one of those games. Movies like that would be the slasher movies, where someone pops up around the corner and scares you half to death.

2. The type of game that really has no jumping point but overall it really starts to freak you out. I played Silent Hill 2 and that game was so f'n scary because of the plot. James's wife is dead yet she writes him a letter, the scary foggy forests, the girl that looks exactly like his wife which is really creepy. That would fallow a movie like "Seven" overall just a damn scary movie.

The Chozo ghosts freak me out. You walk into an area you've been in a hundred times, but now it goes dark, you hear a scream and these insanely tough ghosts appear and then vanish to invisibly torment you. I run for the door if I can, but I dread the Chozo ruins until I can get the X-ray vizor now...

I'm being totally serious when I
say this: I've been playing so
much GTA Vice City that a few
days ago I saw a motorcycle
parked on a street corner, and
my very FIRST instinct was "Nice!
I'm jumping on this thing!" Of
course I chose not to, because it
would most likely result in severe
injury (not from the bike, but from
the owner's fist). But man, when
the first thought in your mind is to
STEAL a motorcycle, it's time to
put down the controller... or just
pick it up and play more.

I just gained access to the Impact Crater on the came, and got my ass handed to me, so I ran out like a little pansy.

This game is GOOD, but I feel like Metroid are sneaking up behind me in my house when it's too quiet.

I seriously played Vice City for a good 3 hours at least and i kept seeing those pink arrows over things, it was freaky. Another really freaky game is max payne, especially when your in the hallways and in your home with the crib and the baby screaming, god is it scary.

Oh, and I hope you have more luck finding the Chozo Artifacts than I did Jerrytaker.

I had to breakdown and look online for the locations. I KNOW there's hints, but it's still a pain in the ass.

I only look for hints online if I feel like I missed something that I can't go any further without, (I hate wasting my time) but I only learned that the part I'm doing now, (Phazon Mines) just really is that hard! frggin insane numbers of space pirates, with no save room in sight, gah...

I love how you die though, visor goes snowy and *blink* you're done...
