I have never seen such a great show turn to such shit the likes of "Oz". For years this was the best show on television. I wouldn't miss an eposide even for a piece of ass. The show went downhill fast after Adebisi was killed in episode #24. Now it's an embarrasment.

Man, what a great episode. Probably the best out the last two seasons, in my opinion. That scene with O'Reilly, his brother and his mom on death row was stunning.

And Kareen better not be dead. That guy was like a rock.

And every episode I like Burr more and more. He's like an old Popeye cartoon come to life. Now he's trying to do some good, and that chubby punk Poet's probably going to get him shanked. Bah.

And the sequence where the mayor gets killed, and then they cut to all the people reacting, while syncing it all with the frantic cello playing was fantastic. I'm gonna miss the hell outta this show when it's gone...

I love every episode that I have seen but there are a few holes. Heh, holes. I was really bummed out to see Saiid killed and yes, Beecher is an idiot but all in the name of manlove for Keller. <P>
Now if my memory could be refreshed here...What exactly happened to Ciro that he became mentally disabled? I watched the first season and the second is on it's way. I saw four and this one but ot three. Who was Luke Perry portraying and how is/was he signifigant to the show? If anyone could fill mylame as in that would be great! <P>

why is keller so hot on OZ? Yet on Law and Order SVU, it's just not the same. It's that whole bad boy thing isn't it??? To bad he's in love with a man. Ryan and Cyril were attending a funeral and ran into Ryan's X girlfriend. Old flames arose and O'Reiley "Rode the Skin Boat to Tuna-Town". Unfortunately the X's current boyfriend was there, found out and a brawl erupted. During this brawl Cyril was struck in the head bringing about his brain damage.

O'Reily has always felt he was to blame for his brother's condition.

This is a really great show, despite all the disturbing negative nudity ( read : male nudity ).
Its funny that people bring up Luke Perry's character because not only did he get lost once, but two times in a maximum security prison.
First he's not in his cell ( because he's being walled up in the cafateria ) and nobody worries ?? Than he's in the hospital and disappears and nobody bats an eye ?? Wasn't anybody curious ?
But I guess they never looked for that general guy that was tossed down the elevator shaft.
Oh my girlfriend thinks she saw Robbson in a gym up here in Westchester county. I told her to go up to him with a spoon and ask how Wolfgang was doing.
( Oh and that whole spoon thing was one of the most unsettling scenes in moving-picture history. )

The only troubling thing other then man love, is the convenience of things happening such as when the french guy got put in oz to be the guy to shoot the gun when any guy who committed his crime would have been in minimum security prison.
Not to mention beecher getting re-arrested they would want a credible source and would never have been watching the purported house 24/7 looking for beecher and if they did he would not have had a case that fast to put him back in.
With that being said the show is still phenomenal and the last 4 episodes should be great. Next to the Wire this is HBO's best show

That was flat out the best episode of Oz yet, and they arent going to end this show with somebody going off into the sunset. Fontana is going to end it with Oz continuing as it always has, a prison with killings and people constantly coming in and then leaving

A couple of questions: What ever happened to Master P's character he was never killed and basically told Schillinger that she did it with black guys, no retribution?
Who will be the final appearances on the last two episodes in place of Augustus. My guess is Adibesi and hopefully Said for one last show

O.k I stopped watching this once excellent show after they were talking about pills to make you age or something. Now its been awhile but you cannot be reffering to "Miguel Alverez" getting paroled. I now this show has plummeted since season III, but please tell me your mistaken. He was serving multiple life sentences and was in solitary last time I can remember. You are referring to another prisoner, right?

As for Alvarez. I'm starting to believe Wolfgang did it on purpose to take care of his wife. He may have been lingering around when Miguel was leaving one of those phone calls to Maritza, and his devotion triggered something....just a thought.

I was really hoping to see Siad, or Adabese for that matter, narrating the episode, instead of Augustus. But I have a funny feeling O'Rielly is going to do something to his dad...again, just a thought.

As for the previews for next week, it was brought to my attention that Sister Peter Marie was being raped in the cell, now that's deep. And LOTS of blood is going to be spilled. I think all that's going to be left is McManius and the skeleton of his creation.

Let me get this straight. Alveraz gouges out a C.O's eyes, holds a priest hostage while threatening his life, escapes ... gets recaptured and returned to Oz, admitingly killed 2 inmates and went absolutely ballistic at a prior parole meeting and I read a post about him having a chance to regain freedom? This may just be the most idiotic thing I have heard in my life. It's no wonder why I left this show a few years ago. Wow, that is just too awful. I actually picked up a phone and called a friend (after reading this thread) who I know still watches the program. I was told that the writing has become so poor that they have resorted to just killing off prime cast members every week. One week Beecher's dad was strolling along (ALL BY HIMSELF) in a PRISON HALLWAY (OZ) when he gets shanked and murdered???? I just took the time to read this entire thread.....seems I am a minority with this opinion. According to you guys "Oz" is prepping to sweep the Emmy awards. Are you people insane?

I think it's definitely gone downhill in the last couple seasons...what I think "broke" it was that mini-season Fontana had to do a couple years back...it was only a few months after the season before it, and he was working on another series for HBO (That never went ahead) about baseball players wives or something...the whole mini-season was really rushed and seemed way out there, and I think he stuck himself in some bizarre plotlines that he couldn't just write away...

But even so, there's been some brilliant performaces in the midst of the wackiness...like O'Reilly in the episdoe before last when it looked like Cyril was going to be executed...and I still think it's better than most TV dramas out there, even if it can't match its own previous quality.

Oh well..."Oz" fan since day one...

I started watching just this season. Now i am waiting for the entire show to be on DVD.

I thought it was pretty good way to go out, and McManus had the words "Dont worry well be back here." as if he were speaking truthfully. I wish the show would be back, but alas it wont.

I thought the way it went out was a bit silly, toxins....i thought Oz was toxic already, or atleast solitary.

Cyrils execution seemed kinda rushed, and why introduce characters like Ryans dad and that gay night club owner. They added nothing to the overall effect of the show.

I think it was a bit predictable that Beecher would kill Schillenger. But it was funny when Beecher did the deed, and all of Em City and the Gen Pop. went crazy. In Macbeth, when Macbeth is slain, it is the end of tyranny. It seemed like that was the metaphor when Beecher killed him and, the pop. was thrilled.

Or maybe im overthinking it.

Pretty good, ill give it a B.

but i found my favorite maniacal evil bastards becoming soft dicked pussies. ryan shouldve told his father to go fuck himself. and robson went soft as well. i mean these new portrayals show the actors range but i like evil fuckers who take no prisoners.

Oz will b missed a great deal. they greatest show since the 2nd season of buffy (say what you will but that entire season was a work of art. watch it, then judge.)
